摘要： A vehicle body shell, such as that of a car, is formed by winding resin- saturated continuous glass fibre filaments on a former (3,4,5). The former rotates on a mandrel (1) and the filaments are drawn around it with their delivery means traversing back and forth along the mandrel. After curing, the former can be dismantled and removed from inside the shell, being taken through one end. Apertures for doors, windows and other features are cut out, and some of these pieces are used in the openable member, eg. a door, which eventually re-fills the aperture. Reinforcement may be provided locally by using glass fibre rovings set into the former in recesses (6,7,9) to produce internal ribs. Carbon fibre filaments and/or metal inserts may be used to provide further strength.

Class 38(5) A switch comprising two blade spring- contact members 2, 3 adapted to be bridged by a moving rigid contact member 4, has each of the edges of the contact member 4 which make contact with the members 2, 3, provided with a plurality of projectins or serrations 4c. The moving contact member 4 is a U-shaped metal stamping having small lugs 4a, 4b projecting from the tips of the arms of the U, the lugs serving as pivot pins and being disposed in recesses formed in projections 1a 1b of the switch body 1. The fixed contacts 2, 3 are shaped as shown for insertion and retention in recesses in the body 1. The moving contact 4 is actuated by a dolly 5 pivoted in a sleeve member 7, an overcentre compression spring 9 extending between the rounded end 5a of the dolly and a projection 4d on the contact 4. The projections 4c may be shaped so that initially some only engage the fixed contacts, the other projections coming into use as wear occurs. The contacts may be arranged so that arcing can only occur at parts of the contact surfaces other than the "working" surfaces.
