[Class 38 (v)] A multipole switch comprises pairs of opposed movable contact members 9 bridging pairs of fixed contacts 7 and actuated by cams 16. The cams 16 are secured to a cam-shaft 4 which is driven by a knob 26 with a lost-motion pin-and-slot connection 19, 18. A coiled spring 22 connects the pin 19 to a rivet 23 secured to the cam-shaft 4 and assists contact-biassing springs 12 in producing a snap-action. Inserts 8 in the switch body locate the fixed contacts and terminals 13 and serve to arrest the cams in their end positions. Graphite-impregnated moulded disc-bearings 6 form dust-proof seals for the body of the switch. In a modification (not illustrated), the different pairs of opposed contact members are arranged on different diametrical lines. Specification 514,202 is referred to.

A motor (24) effects stepped rotation of the helical member. Restraining means prevent the items from undergoing entrained rotation as the helical member rotates, so that the items travel downwards and are removed from the helix by a pusher (28). Alternatively, the mechanism can be inverted so that the items (22) travel upwards and are dispensed from the top of the housing. A "sold out" indicator may be provided.

摘要： Apparatus for dispensing hot drinks, particularly for a passenger-carrying vehicle such as a coach, comprises a dispensing station (16) positioned within the passenger compartment of the vehicle and connected by circulating/recirculating pipes (20, 22) to a remote bulk water reservoir (10), located for example beneath the floor (14) of the vehicle. The water in the remote bulk water reservoir is maintained at a temperature which is at least as high as the temperature at which the water is to be dispensed from the dispensing station. The dispensing station (16) includes valve means (18) and temperature sensing means which monitors the water temperature at the dispensing station and opens the valve only when the water has reached the predetermined dispensing temperature. This enables large numbers of drinks to be dispensed in rapid succession at a constant temperature without waste.
