摘要： A fluid removal apparatus primarily for separating fluids such as water from waste products such as thick sludges and wood pulp. The apparatus has a chamber with an inlet through which material containing solids and fluids can enter the chamber, and a first outlet through which the material minus some of the fluids exits the chamber. There is also a second outlet which comprises a plurality of apertures through which at least a portion of the fluid can exit the chamber. The apparatus has a valve which is configured to control the flow of material out of the first outlet. The apparatus also has a plunger or piston and a plunger actuation means for compressing the material while the valve is in a closed configuration. Once the material has been compressed and some of the fluid has been squeezed out of the material, the valve is opened to allow the material to be pushed out of the chamber.
