摘要： A tyre valve for the wheel of a heavy vehicle has a support with a retainer (11) wider than the valve tube. This is attached to extend sideways. An incurving opening is machined in the retainer to receive the tube (10) at a bent position. The retainer has a longitudinal groove of partly circular section, joining up with the incurving opening. The retainer has a flexible metal part mounted transversely relative to the groove and hinged on one side of the retainer (18). The retainer also has on its lower side a central longitudinal groove. The arrangement is particularly suitable for twin wheel assemblies when one tyre deflates.

摘要： Before annealing titanium or titanium-base alloys at a temperature not exceeding 800 DEG C., a composition comprising an alkali metal nitrate is applied to the surface thereof, the effect of said composition being to make easier the subsequent removal of scale in a pickling solution such as one comprising nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. The nitrate should have a melting point below the annealing temperature and is preferably sodium nitrate. To reduce its fluidity, the nitrate may be admixed with a diluent such as one or more alkali metal carbonates, e.g. sodium carbonate; a suitable composition is, by weight, nitrate 10-100 per cent, diluent 90-0 per cent. The composition may be applied (a) as a powder by sprinkling on a titanium surface which has been previously cleaned and wetted by a detergent solution, or (b) as a boiling, saturated solution. Annealing is generally performed at 650 DEG -750 DEG C. for 3 hours to 1/2 -hour.
