    • A power operator assembly is provided for moving a sliding door between a sliding door of a motor vehicle between a closed position and an open position. The power operator assembly includes a guide rail fixedly secured to the motor vehicle and defining a rail length. A slide mechanism slidingly engages the guide rail. A drive is fixedly secured to the guide rail for selectively moving the slide mechanism along the guide rail in either direction. First and second cables each extend between the sliding door and the slide mechanism for moving the sliding door as the slide mechanism is driven along the guide rail. A compound pulley set is operatively connected to the drive and receives the first and second cables for powered movement of the sliding door a multiplied distance greater than the rail length as the slide mechanism is driven along the guide rail.

    • A closure panel assembly selectively covers an opening formed in a roof of a motor vehicle. The closure panel assembly includes a frame disposed around the opening of the roof. The frame has a longitudinal wall including a guide slot extending between a forward end and a rearward end. A lead screw is disposed adjacent the longitudinal wall and is movable with respect thereto. A panel is movable relative to the lead screw for selectively covering the opening. A sliding bracket is secured to the panel and includes a drive nut extending through the guide slot to threadingly engage the lead screw. The rotation of the lead screw allows for movement of the drive nut to move the panel between an open position and a closed position.

    • A high flow rate fuel vapor vent valve assembly has a delayed fall away fill level control float responsive to the level of fuel in the fuel tank and constructed to control the closing of an outlet passage through which fuel vapors are vented from the fuel tank when a desired maximum fuel level is reached within the fuel tank during refueling of the tank. The fill level float is constructed to sink after refueling of the fuel tank is completed, and preferably several minutes thereafter, to control the opening of the outlet passage and permit fuel vapors to once again vent from the fuel tank. Staggered openings in the housing of the valve assembly permit the fuel vapor to vent from the fuel tank through the outlet passage when it is open but prevent splashing or sloshing fuel within the fuel tank from flowing through the outlet passage and to a vapor canister downstream of the outlet passage. During filling of the fuel tank when the outlet passage is severely restricted or closed, the pressure within the fuel tank increases to cause fuel to rise in the fill pipe and actuate the automatic shut-off of a refueling nozzle of a fuel station fuel pump and prevent substantial additional fuel from being added to the fuel tank.

    • A drive assembly moves a vehicle closure panel from an open to a closed condition. The drive assembly has a housing and a motor mounted on the housing. A drum and gear assembly is rotatably mounted on the housing. The drum and gear assembly has a drum having a helical groove, a gear in driving engagement with the motor, and a spring biasing the drum in a winding direction relative to the gear. The drum and gear have a lost motion connection therebetween. A cable has an end connected to the closure panel and an opposite end connected to the drum about the helical groove in the winding direction. The drum rotates in the winding direction relative to the stationary gear as the closure panel is manually moved from the open to the closed condition with the spring maintaining a cable tension. The drum and gear rotate together in the winding direction upon energizing the motor effecting powered movement of the closure panel to the closed condition. The motor is afterwards energized in an opposite direction counter-rotating the gear relative to the drum back to a start position.

    • A power drive system for a sliding door on a motor vehicle includes a guide track fixedly secured to the vehicle. A motor fixedly secured to the track is adapted to receive power. The motor converts the power into a rotational force. A set of pulleys and wheels are fixedly secured to the track to direct the path of a belt. The belt extends between first and second ends which are operatively coupled to the door and move relative to each other as the motor drives the belt to move the door between open and close positions. Upon manual movement of the door, relative movement between the first and second ends of the belt is sensed by sensors. The sensors create a feedback signal received by an electronic controller which operates the motor to overcome a motor back-driving force and belt friction forces created during manual movement of the door.
