    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-density connector capable of enough alignment after mounting, so as insertion force to be under an allowable limit. SOLUTION: The connector includes a base member 16 having a plurality of bores 24. A plurality of first contact members 20 are positioned in the predetermined bores, and a plurality of second contact members 18 are arranged in other bores. A tail part of each contact member extends by a predetermined distance beyond the base member. By insertion of the tail part of the plurality of second contact members 18 into the bores of a circuit board 22, the tail parts of the plurality of first contact members 20 are sufficiently retained by the circuit board.
