摘要： A tire and wheel rim assembly wherein the wheel rim includes adjacent to at least one bead seat a circumferentially extending groove and the tire bead has a radially and axially projecting extended toe portion which is axially and radially located within said groove. The toe is flexible in a direction substantially perpendicular to its length and substantially rigid in the direction of its length and provides an effective bead lock to retain the tire bead in position on the rim.

[Class 12 (i)] A bearing assembly for the hollow shaft of a hydraulically operated variable-pitch propeller comprises a plurality of flanges on the shaft which engage corresponding annular recesses on a bearing housing, which housing may be formed as an extension to the engine crankcase, with the hydraulic pressure fluid supplied to one or more of the annular recesses so that part of this fluid passes between the faces of the flanges and the recesses to lubricate the thrust and journal bearing surfaces formed thereby while the other part of such fluid passes by radial bores in the particular flanges to the hollow -shaft interior and thence to the variable pitch mechanism. Thus the hollow propeller shaft I has flanges 2-5 engaging annular recesses 31, 41 and end faces of the bearing housing 16. Pressure fluid for operating the variable pitch mechanism is supplied through passageways 18, 19 to the annular recesses 31, 41 and passes thence through radial 'bores 13, 14 in the shaft collars 3, 4 to concentric pipes 8, 9 in the hollow propeller shaft 1 ; the pressure fluid also serves for the lubrication of the combined radial and thrust bearing by passing both above and below U- section rings 17 which fit into the space between the shaft flanges and around the separating walls of the annular'recesses and act' as the bearing liners, the fluid which has acted as lubricant draining to the space 20. The propeller shaft 1 is shown coupled to the engine crank-shaft 7.

The studs are thus located nearer the bearing than usual and weight is thereby saved.

Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 14640/84, 916/15, 7137/15, 173,122, 178,470, and 190,745.

摘要： A portable trestle e.g. work bench which comprises a flat wooden beam supported between two legs which are allowed to fold inwards towards the centre of the beam for storage. When folded away from the beam centre in to an upright position they support the beam and form a stable working platform. The pivot action is by means of pivot pins attaching the upper mounting plate to the two legs. A ladder frame is mounted on to the bottom rung of each trestle leg by means of two hooks and is secured to the trestle legs by brackets to form a ridged structure which allows a second wooden beam to be rested on the cross members of the ladder frame to give various working heights.

摘要： Soya beans and like leguminous seeds are debittered by heating rapidly and uniformly throughout their volume by the application of high frequency electric heating to convert into steam part at least of the moisture therein. The process may be carried out intermittently or continuously. In the former case the seeds may be held in a non-metallic container of negligible power factor which can be introduced between suitably shaped electrodes where the process is being carried out and after a suitable time interval, subsequently removed and emptied. In a continuous process the seeds may be arranged in a layer of suitable depth on a non-conducting endless conveyer belt of negligible power factor, this belt being arranged to travel continuously through the gap between opposed electrodes between which the required alternating electric field is produced. The belt may be arranged subsequently to transport the treated seeds into standard apparatus for cooling and husking.
