摘要： A printer comprising a printhead and a pressure-regulating chamber containing ink at a predetermined first level relative to the printhead. The chamber comprises an outlet port, a return port positioned in a base of the chamber, a snorkel extending from the return port and terminating at a snorkel outlet positioned above the first level of ink, and an air vent open to atmosphere. An upstream ink line interconnects the outlet port and an ink inlet of the printhead. A downstream ink line interconnects the return port and an ink outlet of the printhead. The downstream ink line has a section looping below the first level of ink. In a printing configuration, a second level of ink in the snorkel is equal to the first level of ink in the chamber.

摘要： A system for distributing fluid and gas within a printer is provided having a fluid container having three fluid ports, a first fluid path connecting the first fluid port to a printhead of the printer, a second fluid path connecting the second fluid port to the printhead, and a third fluid path connecting the third fluid port to a gas vent. The first and second fluid ports are configured so that fluid from the fluid container flows between the first and second fluid paths via the printhead and the third fluid port is configured so that gas flows between the fluid container and gas vent.

Class 68(1) One or more jacks are mounted on or adjacent to a digging or lifting implement so as to act directly between the implement or implement - supporting mount and the ground so as to be able to exert an additional upthrust to that exerted by the normal raising means of the implement or the mount. In one embodiment the free ends of the piston rods of hydraulically operated jacks secured to the corners of the base of an excavator bucket act on a groundengaging plate positioned beneath the bucket. In a second embodiment a jack or jacks 25 is or are mounted in each end of an implement-supporting frame 24 pivotally supported about means 59 secured to a frame 18 pivotally mounted at 16 on a yoke 12, 14 or at the end of a pair of arms pivotally mounted on a vehicle. In operation the frame 24 is maintained parallel to the frame 18 by a spring 61 and an arrangement of a valve and passages in the means 59 and the surrounding bush 44 of the frame. This valve arrangement automatically cuts off the supply of liquid to the jack or jacks at the upwardly tilted end of the frame whilst permitting liquid to be supplied to the other jack or jacks. The jacks are mounted for universal pivotal movement in the fram 24 and are biased to an upright position by springs 37.

摘要： A free-flowing, non-caking composition containing at least 97 per cent by weight of sodium bicarbonate and between 0.1 and 2.0 per cent by weight of magnesium carbonate or calcium carbonate or calcium hydroxyphosphate of particle size not exceeding 10 microns, is made by mixing the respective quantities of the ingredients. An additional resistance 16 may be inserted in the other lead. A measuring-instrument such as an ammeter or voltmeter may be connected in either lead so as to give a quantitative reading of the resistance connected to the tags 12. The resistances 7. 16 may be made from carborundum, emery, graphite coated sand, or other granular material secured by gum &c. on a backing of paper, fabric, &c. According to the second Provisional Specification, strips of such material may be provided with end and intermediate contact pieces in the form of strips or washers of copper foil or shim riveted on the strip or frictionally applied thereto.

Classes 7(2) and 7(6) A poppet valve 11 is opened and closed respectively by direct thrust from cams 21 and 22 acting through a linearly guided cage 20 which has lateral but not longitudinal play relative to the valve 11. The lateral play is between parts 23, 24. The cams 21, 22 bear on hard - surfaced plates 26, 30 both of which may be adjustably mounted in the cage 20 although as shown the plate 26 bears directly on cage shoulders and on the end of the valve 11, only the plate 30 being adjustabe, by screwed engagement with the cage 20. A lock ring 31 screws down on the plate 30 and acts thereon via a tab washer, interengaging serrations or vernier hole and dowel locking. The plate 26 has an aperture to clear the nose of the cam 22 and the cams 21, 22 have bores 28, 28a leading lubricant to the plates 26, 30. A light spring load may be provided to assist valve closure when starting from cold, and the valve-closing cam 22 may act through slightly resilient means. The invention is shown applied to both inlet and exhaust valves 11, 12 of a multicylinder engine having overhead camshafts 13 supported in multi-part casings 14, in cylindrical guides of which the cages 20 move in substantial or complete alignment with their respective valve axes.
