摘要： According to the invention, a diagnostic method is provided for diagnosing a misfire condition of individual engine cylinders in a turbocharged diesel engine having at least a first and a second cylinder. The diagnostic method is characterized by defining a group of diagnosing functions (f1 . . . fn), each having as inputs a number of subsequent sampling pressure values (p1 . . . pm) and having as output a threshold characteristic (t1 . . . tn) diagnosing a misfire condition; determining an error function (e1 . . . en), which is a function of measured false fails and false passes for said diagnosed misfire condition by said diagnosing function (f1 . . . fn), in each of an engine speed region, ranging from a lowest engine speed (rlow) to a highest engine speed (rhigh), for selected engine speed range intervals (s1 . . . sl), and selecting a diagnosing function fi from the group of diagnosing functions (f1 . . . fn), where in fi having an error function ei that is lowest over the entire speed range ([rlow-rhigh]). The number n of diagnosing functions (f1 . . . fn) in the group of diagnosing functions can be more than 7.

摘要： A variable geometry turbine (VGT) comprising an intake channel, a rotor, an adjustable nozzle, a nozzle actuator, and a controller. The controller comprises a calibration routine, arranged for calibrating the VGT during normal operation thereof. In the calibration routine, the controller is arranged for performing the steps of:

adjusting the adjustable nozzle from an initial position towards a closed position, while monitoring a pre-turbine pressure;
detecting a deflection point position of the adjustable nozzle at which a sharp difference in the pre-turbine pressure occurs; and
adjusting a minimum cross sectional area in the closed position, to adjust a working range of the VGT in dependence of varying operating conditions, wherein the working range excludes the detected deflection point position.

摘要： A method, device and system for detecting and counteracting a runaway condition in a diesel engine system. The diesel engine system includes an inlet for supplying combustion air to a diesel engine, and an exhaust for relieving the diesel engine from exhaust gas. The diesel engine system further includes an exhaust gas recirculation system for selectively allowing exhaust gas from the exhaust to enter the inlet. A first gas flow path actuator is included in the exhaust gas recirculation system, and a second gas flow path actuator is included in the exhaust. The method, as performed by the system, comprises detection of an actual or potential runaway condition, and in response thereto deprives the diesel engine of oxygen. Depriving of oxygen is performed by opening the first gas flow path actuator and closing the second gas flow path actuator to cause stalling of the diesel engine. The depriving is accomplished by maximizing recirculation of exhaust gasses to the engine and increasing pressure drop over the exhaust for a first predetermined period of time.

摘要： A method and apparatus for field testing an NOx-sensor in a diesel engine exhaust system are disclosed. The apparatus is connectable to a truck having a lean burn diesel type engine, via an on-board diagnostic connector. A test cycle is performed on a running engine in at least two different states of operation, while NOx related values issued by the at least one NOx-sensor are measured over a predefined period of time. One state of operation is obtained by simultaneously opening the exhaust gas recirculation valve and controlling the back pressure valve for increasing backpressure. A dedicated algorithm is used to compare the measured values to a predefined model, and to provide a numerical summary and statistical evaluation of the sensor functioning.

The bracket body (15) thereby is pivotable between an open position enabling a light bulb (9) to be replaced, and a locked position in which a light bulb (9) is firmly held with respect to the lamp reflector unit (5). The clamp portion (41) of the retainer clip (13) has a beveled lip (43) at a free end thereof opposite the substantially cylindrical portion (45), and the bracket body (15) has at least one click finger (33A, 33B) for engaging the beveled lip (43) when in the locked position.
