    • The composition of the present invention is comprised of a mixture from 20 to 70 parts by weight of cross-linked polynorbornene, from 80 to 30 parts by weight of a polymer based on vinyl chloride and at least one plastifier common to polynorbornene and to the polymer based on vinyl chloride, in a quantity sufficient to lower the glass transition temperature of polynorbornene down to the range of rubbers. In order to prepare the thermoplastic composition comprising the cross-linked polynorbornene, a blend of polynorbornene, vinyl chloride polymer, a plastifier common to the polynorbornene and to the vinyl chloride polymer and a cross-linking system is mixed at a temperature and time duration sufficient to cross-link the polynorbornene.
