摘要： A waste food or garbage container has a hemi-spherical curved bowl 100 and an integral plinth 101. A handle 103 has a sliding pin 105 engaging with a pivoting lid 200. The lid may pivot on a first axis about a hinge pin 205 located in flanges 109 allowing the lid to be lifted to gain access to the interior of the bowl. Alternatively, the lid may be rotated about a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. Handle 208 may be located about a flange 110 and may be attached to axle 203, the distal end of the axle may be located in hinge pin 205. In use, a sliding pin 105 may be withdrawn from the lid, handle 208 may be turned clockwise causing part of the lid to enter the bowl and to pass close over the interior surface of the bowl wiping it and emptying the bowl. The lid may be provided with ventilation holes 201. A stop pin 206 may be provided to prevent the lid from swinging the wrong way.

These surfaces may take the form of triangular wedgesection pads C' disposed on the bottom where the chine lines run into the transom. Alternatively, the pad may extend the full width of the bottom. In a modification, the surface is provided by a plate L, Fig. 7, hinged within a recess on the bottom of the boat and adjoining the transom. In this construction, the inclination of the plate is adjusted by a screw device N.

In the Figure the pair of rotatable struts F, F are geared with the aft rudder J mounted on the fixed strut F . In a modification, the craft is provided with a pair of fixed struts and a single rotatable strut and mounted aft.

摘要： 26,723. Lance, C. C. Dec. 7. Sampling-gauges.-A milk-straining appliance is made so that an average sample may be obtained from a number of cans. The milk is poured into a strainer B fitted into a vessel A ending in a conduit D, which has an aperture h in the bottom of that part which projects beyond the storage vessel E. This aperture is made slightly larger than the meshes of the wire-gauge sieve C, and these are made small enough to break up any clots of cream and so render the milk homogeneous. The bulk of the milk enters the tub E, but a fine stream passes through the hole h into a sampling- vessel J. The vessel A is supported by means of two legs which fit on either side of the wall of the tub E, the back leg being adjusted by means of pins passing through holes or slots. The top of the vessel A slopes upwards from the front to the back and is provided with a rib L to take the weight of the cans. The sampling-vessel J may be provided with flanges to slide in guides K.

The planking may comprise two layers constituting a double skin with the planking of both layers extending in the same diagonal direction with the planks of one layer covering the seam joints between those of the other. Transverse built-up laminated frame members N are slotted to receive the longitudinal frame members and diagonal stringers. Bilge stringers may be provided which pass through slots in the frames N and are supported from the skin, the stringer and its support forming a T section.

The girder has two parallel frames A forward running longitudinally and overlapping in length similar frames A aft and nearer together, the overlap taking place m tne neighbourhood of the step. The step is also strengthened by doubling plates fitted on the hull. The struts J of the two forward hydrofoil sets are swept rearwardly downwards, and the hydrofoils themselves have a sweep back from these central struts. The struts J are sharpened to cut through obstructions.

The strut 3 connecting the back wheel to the frame holds the drivetrain (25, figure 5).
