A tell tale housing 24 is supported above the gauge 12 face and placed apart from a face of the gauge 12. A main circuit board 30 supports light emitting devices such as an LED 32 that are turned on or off to illuminate the corresponding tell tale 26. A light guide 36 is supported within the tell tale housing 24 and directs light from the LED 32 to at least one tell tale 26 placed apart from the main circuit board 30 and the face of the main gauge 12.
