    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an analyzer and an analysis method which can detect an abnormality in stirring.SOLUTION: After completion of a reaction time course, "additional stirring", which is unnecessary to the process of reaction of a reagent with a sample, is conducted. Before and after the "additional stirring", optical properties (such as absorbance) of a reaction liquid in a reaction vessel are measured. Abnormality in the stirring of the reagent and the sample within the reaction time course is detected on the basis of comparison between the optical properties (such as absorbance) of the reaction liquid in the reaction vessel measured before the "additional stirring" and the optical properties (such as absorbance) of the reaction liquid in the reaction vessel measured after the "additional stirring".
