    • The proposed method of suppressing interference using a band-pass filter circuit on the receiving side of an optical sensor is based on the assumption that the band-pass filter does not necessarily require a continuous signal and that it may be sufficient to feed the required energy into the filter in the form of short pulses whose repetition period matches the filter's natural frequency. Doing so causes the band-pass filter to resonate like an oscillating circuit, provided that it is of sufficiently high quality. If this is done, the usable signal is boosted while interference of a frequency other than band-pass filter's centre frequency is markedly attenuated. The optical sensor which is used for implementing the proposed method has one or more band-pass filters connected in series, the highest quality filter always being connected at the end of the series. It is advantageous to realize the active band-pass circuit using switched-capacitor technology.________

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive transmission light barrier ensuring equivalent detection at low fixing cost by improving a transmission light barrier exhibiting two functions in parallel. SOLUTION: The light barrier has a transmitting/receiving part SE and a reflector part R and a transmitter S and a receiver E are arranged in one plane while spaced apart from each other. The reflector part R is provided with reflective elements S1, S2, S3 such that a light beam L1 radiated from the transmitter S is reflected and a return beam L2 is formed. The beam L2 is in parallel with the beam L1 and impinges on the receiver E. The reflector part is provided with the reflective elements S1, S2, S3 such that the transmitting S and receiving E are bridged with a mirror having three parts being constituted of the reflective elements S1, S2, S3 and the first barrier beam L1 is reflected as a second parallel beam L2 at a corresponding interval. When one and/or the other beam is interrupted, the light beam radiates a switching signal.
