摘要： A minimally invasive, percutaneous system that allows for dynamic stabilization of the spine is provided, together with methods of using the system. The system comprises a first bone anchoring member that is anchored in a first vertebra, and a second bone anchoring member that is anchored in a second, adjacent, vertebra. The first and second bone anchoring members include a first head portion and second head portion, respectively, that are designed to hold first and second ends of a flexible, elongated member, or cord. In certain embodiments, the cord is provided with a stiffened, relatively inflexible, end portion that is fixedly attached to the cord and that facilitates threading of the cord through the first and second head portions.

The locking mechanism (100) includes a seat (102) and a locking element (108). The seat includes a bottom portion (114) configured to receive the fixation device (104) such that a socket (116) of the bottom portion (114) engages part of the fixation device (104) and prevents the fixation device (104) from passing entirely therethrough. The seat (106) further includes a side portion (112) configured to receive the stabilization device (106) and a locking element (108). The locking element (108), when fully engaged with the side portion (112) of the seat (102), causes locking of the relative positions of the fixation device (104) and the stabilization device (106).

摘要： A bone fusion method, apparatus and device for insertion between bones that are to be fused together and/or in place of one or more of the bones, such as, for example, the vertebrae of a spinal column. The bone fusion device comprises one or more extendable plates having a central rib. The bone fusion device includes one or more support channels configured to receive an insertion instrument that is then secured to the bone fusion device via a coupling mechanism. As a result, the coupled device is able to be securely positioned between vertebrae using the insertion instrument with minimal risk of slippage.
