    • PURPOSE: To quickly and accurately decelerate and stop a three-phase AC induction motor in a control method by using a braking method wherein a microcomputer is used. CONSTITUTION: A three-phase AC induction motor 10 is connected to a three- phase AC power source by switch means 16-18. The speed of the motor 10 is determined by detecting a zero-crossing point of a power source voltage, and polarity of a counter-electromotive force voltage induced in the respective windings 11-13 of the motor 10, when the switch means are in the nonconducting state. That is, after some zero-cross points have been generated, sets of polarity samples are made out of the respective windings 11-13, previously set relations generated in the samples in the respective sets are detected, and the speed of the motor 10 is determined. For example, when three continuous samples from one winding have the same polarity, the speed is in the range of 50 to about 38% of the maximum synchronous speed. Thus the previously determined relations generated in the counter-electromotive force voltage samples are used for the control of the braking of the motor 10.

    • PURPOSE: To protect a load from an overcurrent by a method, wherein current detection transformers are provided, and when the present temperature of the load which is calculated from a secondary detection voltage exceeds a reference level, a switch is opened. CONSTITUTION: A 3-phase contactor 10 and current detection transformers 21-23 are connected to a motor 20. Powers are supplied to an overload relay control circuit 16 and a microcomputer 60 from the current detection transformers 21-23 and a rectifier bridge 30. These components also generate the current level signals of the motor 20 for judging an overcurrent. The overload relay control circuit 16 detects a voltage between both terminals 31 and 32 of the rectifier, in order to sample the change of the current intensity of the motor 20, and the present motor temperature is calculated by a microcomputer 60 and is compared with a tripping temperature. If the calculated temperature is higher than the tripping temperature, a current supplied to a coil 14 of the contactor 10 is cut off and contacts 11-13 are opened, and a current supplied to the motor 20 is cut off to protect a load from the harmful effects of overcurrent.

    • PURPOSE: To make the flame detection not affected by an approach degree of a sensor to flame, etc., by a method wherein a signal generated by a sensor directed to a burner is analyzed. CONSTITUTION: A sensor 12 dransduas a radiation from a burner assembly into an electric signal. An output of the sensor 12 is a DC current fluctuating with the passage of a time and in proportion to a flame force. A time fluctuation portion of the signal is separated from a DC component via a capacitor 19, and an output signal of a first amplifier 20 is made so as to be equal to a difference of a change of a flame force. This output signal is called a 'flame flicker', is generated by a shape of a flame or a time change in strength and can be used to decide existence of a flame and stabilization, etc. Further, a time fluctuation portion of a sensor signal in a node 48 is added to an analog input of a microcomputer 50, interruption is carried out at a regular interval, and an output of an A/D converter is sampled to exercise a software routine for storing in a buffer in RAM's 56.

CONSTITUTION: This controller is provided with a processor 28 executing a control program instructing the operation of a machine for executing a specific function and includes not less than one I/O module 17 making the processor 28 detect the machine and interface to an operation device. Each I/O module 17 includes a circuit making the processor 28 identify the type of the I/O module 17. This circuit includes an input port and an output port and both input/output ports are capable of addressing by the processor 28, thereby attaining mutual connection by a prescribed method according to the specific type of the I/O module 17 so that a processor module 16 writes data into the output port and reads data from the input port to identify the type of the I/O module.
