    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light shielding blind which is arranged inside a window or the like of a building such as a house or an office building, for instance, to prevent sunlight from falling inside the building, wherein the light shielding blind can effectively reflect thermal energy (infrared energy) from the sun in summer etc., to thereby excellently prevent temperature rise in a room.
      SOLUTION: The light shielding blind 1 is set up by arranging a number of long plate-like slats 3 side by side in the vertical direction or horizontal direction. Herein at least a single surface of each slat 3 is formed of gold or a gold alloy in which a gold content is equal to 58 wt.% (K14) or more. Specifically, the slat 3 is made of the gold or the gold alloy in which the gold content is equal to 58 wt.% (K14) or more, for instance. Alternatively, in the slat 3, a single surface or both the surfaces of a long plate-like substrate 30 are coated with metallic surface layers 31 made of the gold or the gold alloy in which a gold content is equal to 58 wt.% (K14) or more.

      SOLUTION: Disclosed is a carbon fiber structure-containing preform produced by a production method for a carbon fiber structure-containing preform comprising: a stage (1) where a carbon fiber structure, an organic binder and a dispersion medium are mixed, so as to obtain a suspension; a stage (2) where the suspension is dried, so as to obtain a mixture; a stage (3) where the mixture is subjected to compression molding, so as to obtain a compression-molded body; a stage (4) where the compression-molded body is subjected to hardening treatment, so as to obtain a hardened compression-molded body; and a stage (5) where the hardened compression-molded body is fired, so as to obtain a carbon fiber structure-containing preform. Also disclosed is a metal matrix composite material obtained by impregnating the carbon fiber structure-containing preform with a melted matrix metal, and solidifying the same.
