摘要： A satellite television system comprises a satellite dish, a terrestrial television receiver integrated within the satellite dish, and an integrated satellite and terrestrial TV set-top box. The satellite dish integrated satellite and terrestrial TV set-top box receive satellite television signals via the satellite dish and receive processed terrestrial television signals from the terrestrial television receiver integrated within the satellite dish. The satellite dish integrated satellite and terrestrial TV set-top box generate output satellite television channel content from the received satellite television signals and output terrestrial television channel content from the processed terrestrial television signals. The terrestrial television receiver may comprise a plurality of integrated demodulators and the terrestrial television receiver capture, utilizing a plurality of integrated demodulators, a corresponding plurality of terrestrial television channels. The plurality of integrated demodulators may be operable to generate the processed terrestrial television signals from the captured corresponding plurality of terrestrial television channels.

摘要： A method and system for scheduling commercial advertisement are described in which a data processing system having the spot scheduler solver may be operable to receive an advertiser's order to place advertisement or commercial spots into one or more commercial television breaks. The order may comprise various constraints and requirements corresponding to the spots. The spots may be assigned to inventory buckets within the commercial breaks based on the constraints and requirements. When a conflict arises, a prioritization scheme may be performed to complete the assignment of spots not assigned and to generate a commercial break schedule. The prioritization scheme may be based on spot arrival lead time or on maximizing the sum of the rates corresponding to the spots. The data processing system may maximize the spread of the spots over the commercial break schedule. The commercial break schedule may be adjusted when additional orders are received.

In one aspect, a given peer communication device may determine that it has no data to communicate to any of the remaining peer communication devices. The given communication device may communicate to each of the peer communication devices that there is no data to transmit to the peer communication device. Each of the peer communication devices may communicate that there is no data to transmit to the given peer communication device. Based on the communications, the given peer communication device may exit the active operating state and enter a low power operating state.
