摘要： A fire detector and method for generating an alarm signal in response to a fire uses an NDIR sensor to generate a detector signal based upon one or more absorption bands selected from the 15.1μ absorption band of CO2, the 6.27μ absorption band of H2O and the 4.67μ absorption band for CO and generates an alarm signal when a signal processor receives the detector signal and a preselected criterion is met that is indicative of the onset of a fire based upon an analysis of the detector signal using a detection algorithm that relies upon a trending pattern of the detector signal such as recognizing a substantial drop in the detector signal strength. The fire detector has a waveguide sample chamber (which can be of a re-entrant design) with at least one opening covered by a thin filtering membrane and a heat exchanger thermally connected to the sample chamber with at least one opening covered by another thin filtering membrane. If the NDIR sensor is to detect H2O molecules, the filtering membrane on the heat exchanger (which can be integrally formed out of aluminum with the sample chamber) allows H2O molecules to pass through it and inside surfaces of both the sample chamber and the heat exchanger are coated with a hydrophobic coating to prevent condensation of H2O molecules.

摘要： Concentrations of N gas species can be detected from a single beam NDIR gas sensor having a differential infrared source and an (N+1)-passband filter (having a neutral passband and N absorption passbands for N gases) mounted at a single infrared detector by driving the infrared source with N input power levels to render the source into emitting at N distinct temperatures whose radiation outputs are characterized by N corresponding Planck curves which are dependent only upon the respective source temperatures and which link a Spectral Radiant Emittance MsubLamba with wavelength, measuring N detector outputs at the single infrared detector and detecting the concentrations of N different gas species, each of the N gas species having its own unique infrared absorption passband, by (a) setting up N causality relationship equations linking outputs of the detector respectively for N different source temperatures and a set of relevant parameters of the sensor components, (b) determining the values of all of the parameters for the N equations utilizing appropriate boundary conditions except the N concentrations for the respective N gas species, and (c) solving for the N gas concentrations with the measured N detector outputs, there being N equations and N unknowns, when N is an integer of 2 or more.

摘要： A lighting system for clothing, footwear, backpacks, and other accessories incorporates a battery, a switch, a counter circuit, a flasher and lamps or LEDs driven by the flasher. The switch has a tubular housing of electrical insulating material which may be round or square in cross section. A pair of electrical contact pins extend into the interior of the housing and are aligned longitudinally. The external ends of the contact pins are wired to the counter circuit and the battery. A free-floating contact bar of electrical conducting material normally resides on the bottom of the pins thus closing the switch and causing an input signal to the counter circuit and causing the lamps or LEDs to be illuminated momentarily. The contact pins can alternatively extend through the bottom of the housing and the contact bar may rest against the contact pins. An electrical timer circuit responsive to closing of the switch limits the flashing of the LEDs to one sequence of flashes until further movement of the switch causes it open and close again.

The option is conveyed to a money source by means of a customization parameter. The customization parameter is used to customize generation of a user one-time payment card number, to customize a user identifier or as a customization variable that is included in a user transaction data packet which includes the user one-time payment card number and the user identifier. A delivery agent can be used to deliver the purchased goods to a delivery location that is not known by the merchant by use of a tracking identifier provided by the money source to the merchant and the delivery agent. After the purchased goods are delivered by the merchant to the delivery agent, they can be delivered to a destination location and held for pick-up, they can be delivered to a second delivery agent, or they can be delivered to a delivery address provided to the delivery agent. A person receiving the goods can prove entitlement to such goods by presentation of a delivery code or a dummy one-time payment card number that can also serve as proof of receipt and by used to trigger a charge for the goods once they have been received.

The platform and the exercise mat can be made of two parts foldable 180 degrees from each other. The two pipes located at one lengthwise end of the platform are preferably spaced apart at least the shoulder width of a user and have their attachment mechanisms located approximately ten inches from the platform. The pipe centrally located has its attachment mechanism locatable approximately four feet from the platform surface.

摘要： An outdoor lighting fixture is disclosed including a first housing containing the fixture ballast or power supply, a second housing enclosing a lamp. Each of the housings is sealed. A support stem joins the two housings and defines a thermal air gap between the two. The only conductive thermal path between the two housings is through the stem and the fasteners engaging the stem and the two housings. In one embodiment, a plurality of tubular spacers are located on elongated screw fasteners define the size of air gap. In another embodiment a single fastener includes washers defining the air gap size. In that embodiment, the fastener may be hollow and acts as a conduit for the electrical leads for the fixture. In another embodiment one closure for a housing includes fins for cooling the fixture.
