摘要： A method and tool are disclosed for distributing operations in a software application from a master computer to one or more slave computers for execution. Operations within the software application are identified that employ input data independent of other input data. The identified operations, which can be organized into groups of one or more operations, may then be distributed to a slave computer for execution. A group of operations may also include one or more heuristics, for determining when the group of operations should be executed on a slave computer. If a group of operations is distributed to a slave computer for execution, the master computer subsequently determines if the slave computer successfully executed those operations. If the slave computer successfully executed the group of operations, it returns the resuits to the master computer, which then employs the returned results to continue running the software application. If, however, the slave computer was unable to successfully execute the group of operations, then the master computer may execute the group of operations itself or provide the group of operations to another slave computer, allowing the master computer to continue running the software application without interruption.

摘要： A computing-device implemented method for compressing data, where such devices include a computer, personal digital assistant (PDA), home appliance, and the like. The data includes bandwidth intensive information such as that used in video conferencing, MPEG and equivalent types of digital video encoding, multi-media data transfers, and interactive gaming. In one implementation, a 3D model has objects defined therein. Each object is defined according to a data collection, each element within the collection having a first data size. A distance is determined between a reference point in the model, and a bounding box for an object. A data reduction factor is selected based, at least in part, on the distance. The data collection is compressed according to the distance by mapping each data of the first data size to data having a second data size smaller than the first data size. Other compression methods and apparatus are disclosed.

摘要： To provide an operation method of a fuel cell system which even when the fuel cell repeats stop and start, can avoid degradation of the fuel cell and a fuel cell system for carrying out the method. An operation method of a fuel cell system which is provided with a fuel cell having at least one cell provided with an electrolyte, an anode and a cathode each having a platinum based metallic catalyst, the electrolyte being put between the anode and the cathode, and a pair of separator plates having formed thereon gas passages for feeding a fuel gas into the anode and feeding an oxidizing agent gas into the cathode, respectively and which switches connection and disconnection between the fuel cell and a load, wherein feeding of the oxidizing agent gas into the cathode and feeding of the fuel gas into the anode are continued until a prescribed period of time elapses after disconnection between the fuel cell and the load, and thereafter, feeding of each of the oxidizing agent gas and the fuel gas is stopped, thereby controlling the operation such that the time when the cell of the fuel cell has a voltage of 0.9 V or more falls within 10 minutes.
