摘要： A tool is disclosed for use in forming holes in bone and for driving a cannulated fastener into the formed hole. The tool may having a cutting tip for drilling a hole into bone, and may have a shaft and sleeve for accepting the cannulated fastener and for driving it into the drilled hole. The tool may be adjustable to allow fasteners of different lengths to be accepted, while ensuring that a portion of the cutting tip protrudes beyond the end of the fastener. A multiple-screw tool is also disclosed that allows more than one cannulated fastener at a time to be stacked on the tool, thus speeding the installation process.

摘要： The present invention provides a simplified bone fastener removal tool which allows the surgeon to remove bone screws or other bone fasteners from bone, and from bone plates incorporating fastener locking elements. The tool includes an inner shaft which axially engages the bone fastener, a drive shaft which allows the fastener to be rotated using the tool, and an internally threaded outer sleeve which, in combination with the drive shaft, allows for a controlled removal of the fastener from the bone plate and bone. In particular, the internal threads of the outer sleeve engage external threads on the drive shaft, such that rotating the drive shaft while maintaining the outer sleeve fixed causes the drive shaft to translate with, respect to the sleeve. Thus, when a fastener is axially engaged with the drive shaft, a controlled removal of the fastener from the bone and bone plate is accomplished simply by rotating the drive shaft with respect to the outer sleeve. No pulling on the fastener is necessary. A method of using the tool is also provided.

摘要： The present invention is directed to a bone plate and its method of use for reducing a bone fracture, the bone plate having a longitudinal axis, the bone plate comprising an upper surface, a lower surface, a first hole for engaging a head of a first bone anchor. The first hole is configured and adapted to fix a shaft of the first bone anchor along a first axis. A second hole is spaced apart from the first hole along the longitudinal axis.
