摘要： The present disclosure provides compositions, articles, and methods related to altering electromagnetic radiation. An actinic radiation curable precursor composition of a three-dimensional article includes a) a resin comprising an actinic radiation curable component, wherein the resin has a viscosity no greater than 500 cP; b) hollow glass microspheres having a density no greater than 2 g/mL and an average diameter no greater than 200 micrometers; and c) a photoinitiator. At least part of the surface of the hollow glass microspheres comprises a surface coating or modification. An article includes a photo(co)polymerization reaction product of the composition. A method of manufacturing a three-dimensional article includes the steps of a) providing an actinic radiation curable precursor composition; and b) selectively exposing a portion of the composition to a source of actinic radiation to at least partially cure the exposed portion of the composition, thereby forming a cured layer. Steps a) and b) are repeated so as to form a three-dimensional article. A three-dimensional article is provided, obtained according to the method. Methods of interfering with electromagnetic radiation originating from an electromagnetic radiation producing device are provided, including integrating an article into the electronic device or placing an article in the vicinity of the electromagnetic radiation producing device.

摘要： The present disclosure provides articles having conformal layers and methods of making such articles. An article includes a first polymeric layer having a substantially planar major surface and an opposing major surface bonded to a second polymeric layer. One major surface of the second polymeric layer is conformal to the first polymeric layer while the opposing major surface defines a cavity having at least one wall. The second polymeric layer also has a channel connecting the cavity to at least one edge of the second polymeric layer or to the planar surface of the first polymeric layer. A surface of the cavity exhibits an advancing contact angle with water of less than 90 degrees. A method includes obtaining a tool having protruding features; disposing a first polymer on the protruding features; disposing a second polymer on the first polymer; and applying compression to the polymeric tooling, the first polymer, and the second polymer at an elevated temperature to form the article. The articles can be formed to have small cavities for use as precision fluidic devices, such as blood glucose testing strips.

摘要： The present disclosure provides a composite material. The composite material includes 20 to 40 weight percent (wt.%) of a polymerizable component; 6 to 40 wt.% of ceramic fibers; and 30 to 70 wt.% of nanoclusters. Each of the ceramic fibers has a diameter and a length, the ceramic fibers having an arithmetic mean diameter of 0.3 micrometers to 5 micrometers, and the length of fifty percent of the ceramic fibers (based on a total number of the ceramic fibers) is at least 10 micrometers and the length of ninety percent of the ceramic fibers is no greater than 500 micrometers. The present disclosure also provides a method of making the composite material. The method includes obtaining components and admixing the components to form a composite material. Further, the present disclosure provides a method of using a composite material including placing a composite material near or on a tooth surface, changing the shape of the composite material near or on a tooth surface, and hardening the composite material. In addition, the present disclosure provides dental products and kits. Hardened composite materials can exhibit high strength.

In addition, the present disclosure provides articles including interpenetrating layers having different elastic storage moduli, such as non-metallic layers, and methods of making the articles. 摘要： A selective microbial detection device and methods of use are provided. The device includes a water-proof pouch that includes a first wall portion, a second wall portion, and a porous membrane filter disposed in the pouch between the first and second wall portions. The filter membrane divides the pouch into first and second compartments. The microbial detection device also includes an effective amount of a dry nutrient disposed in the first compartment, which contains sodium lauryl sulfate in an amount of 1.75 milligrams or greater per twelve square inches of the first wall portion. A dry, cold water-soluble gelling agent is adhered to the pouch in the first compartment and an absorbent pad is disposed in the second compartment. A sealable sample port provides access to deposit a liquid into the first compartment.

摘要： A method of making an adhesive is provided, including obtaining an actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition disposed against a surface of an actinic radiation-transparent substrate and irradiating a first portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate for a first irradiation dosage. The method further includes irradiating a second portion of the actinic radiation-polymerizable adhesive precursor composition through the actinic radiation-transparent substrate for a second irradiation dosage. The first portion and the second portion are adjacent to or overlapping with each other and the first irradiation dosage and the second irradiation dosage are not the same. The method forms an integral adhesive having a variable thickness in an axis normal to the surface of the actinic radiation-transparent substrate. Also, an adhesive article is provided, including a substrate having a major surface and an integral adhesive disposed on the major surface of the substrate. Further, methods are provided, including receiving, by a manufacturing device having one or more processors, a digital object comprising data specifying an article; and generating, with the manufacturing device by an additive manufacturing process, the article based on the digital object. A system is provided, including a display that displays a 3D model of an article; and one or more processors that, in response to the 3D model selected by a user, cause a 3D printer to create a physical object of an article.

The printable composition includes a polymer, a polymerizable component, a temporary solvent, a photoinitiator, and optionally an inhibitor.
