    • The present disclosure includes a hinge assembly for use in a hinged attachment of a panel relative to a frame and providing movement of the panel relative to the frame. A link which provides an extension or reach motion and positioning of the assembly, shown for purposes of illustration and not limitation in the form of a gooseneck arm, is provided in the hinge assembly to facilitate an extended range of motion of the hinge assembly. A first spherical bearing assembly and a second spherical bearing assembly are operatively associated with a bearing end of the link to provide multiple degrees of motion while securely retaining the panel relative to the frame. The hinge is intended to provide universal application of a single version of a hinge which can be used in multiple locations as facilitated by the multiple degrees of motion provided by the bearing end of the link.

    • A container adapter for use with containers having a variety of standard forms with at least one external container thread on the neck thereof. A funnel portion is used to add ingredients to a container. A cylindrical portion extends from the funnel and includes more than one internal thread segment on the inside surface for engagement with the external container thread on the neck of a standardized forms of container. The cylindrical portion includes an external cylinder threaded portion which is configured for receiving a cooperatively threaded nipple-and-ring assembly. At least one gripping portion is positioned in the cylindrical portion for engagement with the cylindrical portion and the neck of a container when the cylindrical portion. At least one expansion slit may be provided on the container adapter for facilitating expansion of the wall when applying the container adapter to the neck of standardized containers of a variety of dimensions.

    • The present disclosure relates to an apparatus, system, and method of use for producing beverages. The apparatus includes at least a modular brewing mechanism. Also, the system includes a reservoir for retaining a volume of beverage produced by the brewing mechanism. The system includes controls for dispensing a single cup of beverage while producing multiple cycles of beverage for transfer to the reservoir. The system also includes controls for monitoring freshness of beverage, controllably disposing of beverage, and controlling production of single cup or batch production of beverage. The method and apparatus includes controllable pressurized brewing in a column or chamber using a controllable piston moving in the chamber and which may include controlling steep time, pressurization, extraction time, active controllable agitation of the brewing substance, as well as other brewing characteristics.

    • Disclosed is a beverage brewer (20) for brewing a beverage using a beverage brewing substance pod (51). The pod may include substances such as coffee for producing a desired brewed beverage. A pod holder (30), having at least one wall (33), defining a cavity (34) in the pod holder for retaining the pod for brewing. Water is dispensed into the pod and drained through a drain (50) in the pod holder. The pod holder is removable from the brewer for placing a pod therein. The pod holder is slideably inserted into the brewer for brewing. One or more ramps (52, 57) are provided on the brewer for engagement with corresponding ramps (55) on the pod holder for positioning the holder relative to the sprayhead (40) for infusing the pod retained in the holder. Water is introduced to the pod without piercing the pod. Legs (121) are provided on a portion of the pod holder for positioning the pod holder in an upright position when removed from the brewer.
