摘要： The disclosed embodiments provide a system that implements a multiwavelength laser. This system includes a set of reflective semiconductor operational amplifiers (RSOAs) and a broadband loop mirror having an input and an output. The system also includes an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexer having inputs that are coupled to outputs of the set of RSOAs, and having an output that feeds into the input of the loop mirror. During operation of the system, each RSOA in the set of RSOAs forms a wavelength-specific lasing cavity with a specific passband of the AWG multiplexer and the broadband loop mirror. The wavelength-specific laser signals produced by the wavelength-specific lasing cavities combine at the output of the loop mirror to produce a multiwavelength signal, which is emitted through an output of the system.

Next, the system performs a portfolio optimization operation to determine the optimal allocations across different investment options for all accounts in the portfolio with the objectives of maximizing expected after-tax alpha for the portfolio, minimizing a tracking error between the portfolio and the target asset allocation, minimizing taxes on realized capital gains, both now and in the future (for taxable accounts), and minimizing trade costs. Finally, the system generates a set of trading instructions to produce the optimal allocation from a current allocation for the portfolio.

摘要： During operation, the system receives time-series signals gathered from sensors in a utility system asset. Next, the system uses an inferential model to generate estimated values for the time-series signals, and performs a pairwise differencing operation between actual values and the estimated values for the time-series signals to produce residuals. The system then performs a sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) on the residuals to produce SPRT alarms. Next, the system applies an irrelevance filter to the SPRT alarms to produce filtered SPRT alarms, wherein the irrelevance filter removes SPRT alarms for signals that are uncorrelated with previous failures of similar utility system assets. The system then uses a logistic-regression model to compute an RUL-based risk index for the utility system asset based on the filtered SPRT alarms. When the risk index exceeds a threshold, the system generates a notification indicating that the utility system asset needs to be replaced.

During operation, the system receives a text message from a service at a mobile device, wherein the text message includes a tele-link, wherein the tele-link is comprised of a phone number. 摘要： The disclosed embodiments provide a system that facilitates seamlessly switching between graphics-processing units (GPUs) to drive a display. In one embodiment, the system receives a request to switch from using a first GPU to using a second GPU to drive the display. In response to this request, the system uses a kernel thread which operates in the background to configure the second GPU to prepare the second GPU to drive the display. While the kernel thread is configuring the second GPU, the system continues to drive the display with the first GPU and a user thread continues to execute a window manager which performs operations associated with servicing user requests. When configuration of the second GPU is complete, the system switches the signal source for the display from the first GPU to the second GPU.
