    • The object of this invention is to improve a gripper opening / closing mechanism of a sheet transfer cylinder in a sheet-fed printing machine in the prior art. The gripper opening / closing mechanism of the sheet transfer cylinder (5) in the sheet-fed printing machine (B) comprises: a plurality of grippers (3); a gripper shaft (1) whereupon the plurality of grippers are disposed over specific intervals; and a cam mechanism (5A,5B) provided at each of two ends of the gripper shaft, which cause the gripper shaft to move when the sheet transfer cylinder has rotated to a first specific position (U,L) so that the grippers and the external circumferential side surface of the sheet transfer cylinder come in contact with each other and causes the gripper shaft to move in the opposite direction when the sheet transfer cylinder has rotated to a second specific position (U,L) so that the grippers and the external circumferential side surface of the sheet transfer cylinder depart from each other. With the sheet transfer cylinder of the sheet-fed printing machine thus structured to constitute the pick-up cylinder (34), the impression cylinders (31), the intermediate cylinders (32) and the delivery cylinders (33), torsion in the gripper shaft during opening / closing of the grippers is prevented and the opening / closing of the grippers can be performed in a consistent manner.

    • A distributor type fuel injection pump (1) which achieves pilot injection in the idling range and the no-load range and cancels the pilot injection in the full-load range is provided.
      At either one of a distribution member (8) for distributing compressed fuel or a control sleeve (34) which is externally fitted around the distribution member(8), inflow/outflow ports (31), the number of which corresponds to the number of distributions with slits (36) extending therefrom are provided. At the other one of the distribution member and the control sleeve (34), an intake-cutoff hole (35) that communicates sequentially with the inflow/outflow ports (31) and a pilot port (37) which communicates with the slits (36) during part of the force feed period are provided. Since the fuel flows out through the slits during part of the force feed period, pilot injection can be more easily achieved prior to the main injection during low speed rotation and fuel is less likely to be diverted through the slits due to the constricting effect during high speed rotation so that only the main injection is performed.
