    • The present invention is a method for assigning a qualitative importance of relevant genetic phenotypes to the use of specific drugs for individual patients based on genetic test results. The invention provides a drug-centric integration of pharmacogenetic test information across multiple genes relevant to an individual drug. The invention then assigns a color designation for each drug reported and groups the drugs together on a report according to drug class/therapeutic area, thus allowing the physician to easily and quickly identify a drug from a specific drug class that would be best for that patient according to their entire pharmacogenetic test results. The outputs of the method can be added to existing pharmacogenetic test reports as a quick guide for the physician. Such integration of pharmacogenetic information from multiple genes and drug-centric organization of the outputs should allow physicians to more easily utilize and incorporate pharmacogenetic testing into their practice.

    • An apparatus and method for performing inline inspections of pipelines of composite structure installed in a host pipeline or standing alone comprising a multiplicity of sensor/transducers located on or within the pipe structure to measure and record various pipeline properties, an activation/reading/storage device to activate read and collect measurement results from the sensor transducers, an automatic launch and recovery system for the activation/reading/storage device, and a database/storage/analytical device to receive, analyze and interpret results from collected data and transmit appropriate instructions to a pipeline operator or remotely activated system for action. The remote reading of sensor/transducers may be accomplished by a device running through the pipeline or passing over or near the pipeline, where ground-level handheld or wheeled vehicle mounted, fixed wing or rotary aircraft, hovercraft watercraft or satellite based instrumentation can record the location and condition of a pipeline.

    • Provided is a novel method for detecting Transmissible Spongiform encephalopathies (TSE). The method comprises: selecting a sera sample from a subject to determine whether the subject has transmissible spongiform encephalopathy; and detecting antibodies that immune react with Spiroplasma proteins in the sample. The method detects antibodies in the individual sera samples that react with recombinant Spiroplasma-specific Hsp60 by standard ELISA methodology. This method provides for rapid detection of TSE by determination of presence of antibodies in test sera showing associated Spiroplasma infection that has become consistent with presence of TSE. The method provides a mechanism to detect presence of TSE without invasive techniques currently needed to make diagnosis using brain tissues for prion detection. This method provides means of detection of TSE in the live patient without need for using necropsy tissues. This method provides the first method discovered that detects antibodies against TSE infection-specific proteins in sera or cerebrospinal fluid samples.
