    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for use in a musical instruction system. The apparatus has a feeder for feeding a document through a display area; and a receptacle configured to receive a musical keyboard having a plurality of keys positioned sequentially in a first dimension, each of the plurality of keys being marked with a key indicator; the document being marked with a series of document indicators each identifying one of the key indicators, wherein the series of document indicators is positioned in such a way that when each of the series of document indicators passes through the display area the document indicator is collocated, in the first dimension, with the key marked with the key indicator identified by the document indicator. The apparatus provides an association between sheet music and keys to be played which does not rely on a user's skill or experience with the instrument or with reading traditional sheet music.

    • Embodiments of the present invention include a method of generating a simulation model of a space, the simulation model being a three-dimensional geometrical representation of the space in a format appropriate for computational fluid dynamic analysis; the method comprising: obtaining a geometrical representation of the space; obtaining a characterisation of the operation and/or arrangement of physical entities influencing airflow in the space, from among a predetermined set of characterisations; generating the simulation model of the space based on the geometrical representation, wherein said generating includes: configuring the simulation model by selecting configuration options, from those associated with the obtained characterisation in a database in which each of the predetermined set of characterisations are codified as a set of configuration options for a simulation model, in dependence upon the content of the geometrical representation.

    • Embodiments of the present invention provide an application execution controller, configured to instruct an execution of an application in a computing environment having a plurality of different amounts and/or types of a plurality of categories of computing resource to allocate to executing applications; the controller comprising: an information collecting unit, configured to collect: available resource information detailing a plurality of configurations of computing resources available to execute the application, wherein the configurations each include an indication of an amount and/or type of computing resource available in each of the plurality of categories of computing resource; application execution scalability information including, for computing resources in at least one of the plurality of categories, an indication of how different amounts and/or types of computing resource in that category correlate with execution rate of all or a portion of the application; and performance target information including an indication of one or more performance targets for the execution of the application. The application execution controller further comprises: a configuration selection unit configured to perform a selection of a configuration from among the plurality of configurations detailed in the available resource information which, based on the application execution scalability information, will meet, or will come closest out of said plurality of configurations to meeting, the one or more performance targets; and an instructing unit configured to instruct the computing environment to execute the application using the selected configuration.
