摘要： An access control barrier of the type used for vehicle access, livestock and crowd control, a drive mechanism for a barrier and a control system therefor is disclosed. The barrier comprises a boom arm mounted for rotation with respect to a support post, the boom arm being movable between a closed blocking position and an open access position in response to a signal in which the boom arm comprises a first arm element, rotatably driven at one end around a horizontal pivot axis mounted on said support post, and a second arm element pivotally coupled to the other end of the first arm and driven to rotate with respect thereto during the transition between said open and closed positions. A drive mechanism for the barrier is adapted to move the boom arm between its open and closed positions about its horizontally disposed pivot axis is described. A control system governing electronic actuation of an access control barrier utilising remote means, barrier movement control, remote monitoring features, the powering of said barrier and the detection of interference with the barrier and deterrent means to prevent or minimise further interference is also defined.

摘要： The method of the invention involves the stepwise reduction of a rubberised crawler vehicle track (T), of the type having metal track elements (E) within a rubberised or elastomeric material matrix, into useable constituent parts. The reduction of the track is achieved by feeding a track section towards a material removal station (30) where a series of ultra high-pressure water jets are used to remove substantially all of the matrix material and to clean the remaining metal track elements and any supporting or reinforcing material. The track elements are recycled directly into new crawler tracks or collected as high-grade scrap. The matrix material is collected and graded. An apparatus for effecting the method of the invention is also disclosed.

摘要： An equilibrium valve (7) which is opened and closed by the movement of a float means (16,17) secured at an. end of a lever arm (8) and which rises and falls in use with the level of water in a container (11). The supply of liquid is controlled by the valve (7) which has a discharge outlet (6) directing incoming water in a downwardly direction. The lever arm (8) is combined with a catchpot (5) into which incoming water is diverted. The catchpot (5) is mounted on or forms part of the arm (8) and includes a region which extends below the discharge outlet (6) of the valve (7) and includes a draining orifice (2) which aligns with the outlet (6) when the lever arm has dropped sufficiently to begin to open the valve. When the container is nearly full the buoyancy of the floats carries the lever arm and catchpot upwardly to close the valve. In doing so the catchpot empties, increasing the buoyancy effect and thereby closing the valve more rapidly and firmly.
