摘要： A sole insert designed for use in high heel shoes that includes a forward region supporting the forefoot and a hollow area disposed beneath the first metatarsal head. The hollow area provides less support to said first metatarsal head than is provided to other areas of the forward region that support the forefoot. The rear region supports the midfoot and the rearfoot including the heel, with the rear region extending from the forefoot to the back of the heel. Also disclosed are methods of making this sole insert and shoes that contain the sole insert.

摘要： An industrial mat having a core construction that provides strength and rigidity, an encapsulation of a durable skin of a thermoplastic, thermosetting or elastomeric material that surrounds the core construction, and upper and/or lower surfaces of a plurality of elongated members. The members of the upper and/or lower surfaces are advantageously arranged in spaced relation in at least one layer and are attached together or to the core construction. The elongated members can be arranged for interlocking of the mats or for protecting the skin from abrasion and impact during transport, installation and use of the mat. The resulting industrial mat has a load bearing capacity that is able to withstand a load of at least 600 to 1000 psi without permanent deformation and typically have a width of 2 to 12 feet, a length of 2 to 40 feet and an overall thickness of 2 to 18 inches.

摘要： The common interchangeable use of a high methanol content fuel for use in all types of internal combustion engines, including cars, trucks, vehicles for transportation use (ships, boats, locomotives, airplanes, etc.), various other equipment and turbines. The engines are converted to be able to use these fuels although further vehicles can be made with components that would allow such fuels to be used. These methanol fuels are renewable and environmentally benign when produced from carbon dioxide capture and recycling of their combustion or other use.

The modified polyamine is the reaction product of an amine and an epoxide. The sorbent provides structural integrity, as well as high selectivity and increased capacity for efficiently capturing carbon dioxide from gas mixtures, including the air. The sorbent is regenerative, and can be used through multiple cycles of adsorption-desorption.

摘要： Provided here are new methods to identify specific families of mammalian odorant receptors for odorants or aroma, particularly indole and skatole malodors and their use in assays that may be used to discover compounds that modulate (blocking, enhancing, masking or mimicking compounds) their activity. Orphan mouse odorant receptors are identified from olfactory sensory neurons that respond to target compounds. The resulting receptors as well as their human counterparts can be screened in assays against test compounds to confirm their identity as odorant or aroma receptors, particularly malodor receptors and subsequently discover for example modulators that inhibit the perception of the malodor in humans.
