Business entities or the objects associated with the business entities that are proximate to a mobile communication device may be identified via object recognition techniques, product codes, wireless communication, location determination or the like. Once the business entities or objects have been identified, the related investment information is retrieved and indicators are displayed in the live video stream proximate to the display of the business entity or an object associated with the business entity. The user can activate the indicator to receive further investment-related information or be connected to an online investment broker for the purpose of purchase stock or some other form of investment instrument associated with the business entity.

摘要： Throttling an iterative process in a computer system is disclosed. Embodiments focus on non-productive iterations of an iterative process in a computer system. The number of productive iterations of the iterative process during a current timeframe is determined while the iterative process is executing. A count of the number of process starts for the iterative process during the current time frame is stored. The count can be normalized to obtain a number of units of work handled during the current timeframe. A throttling schedule can be calculated, and the throttling schedule can be stored in the computer system. The throttling schedule can then be used to determine a delay time between iterations of the iterative process for a new timeframe. A formula can be used to calculate the throttling schedule. The throttling schedule can be overridden in accordance with a service level agreement (SLA), as well as for other reasons.

摘要： An improved system and methods for correlating an interrogation-based air traffic surveillance intruder, such as an Traffic alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) intruder, and a GPS-based air traffic surveillance target, such as an Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) target to minimize or eliminate the display of two symbols for the same intruder/target on the CDTI of an aircraft. The method comprises the steps of receiving ADS-B data at a processing unit and calculating select component deltas for the ADS-B data versus an entry in a TCAS intruder file. Progressive weights are assigned to the deltas and the progressive weights are summed, resulting in a total confidence score. Total confidence scores of ADS-B target and TCAS intruder pairs are compared to determine correlation between the ADS-B target and the TCAS intruders.

摘要： A method and apparatus for implementing location-based identification in a communication network. The method comprises establishing a network connection between a host and a network, transmitting network data packets from the host through a connection port, transmitting data packets from the host through a location-specific connection port and identifying the port at an access concentrator in the form of a port identifier. The port identifier is then communicated to a network device, typically a gateway device, and stored in a database in communication with the network device. In another embodiment the method includes tagging the network packets at the access concentrator with a port identifier that corresponds to a media access control (MAC) address. The invention also provides for a network apparatus that includes a processor that is capable of communicating with an access concentrator to determine the port identity corresponding to a data packet MAC address. The network device is then able to use the location-based identities to structure billing schemes and manage the overall network that the service provider has established.
