摘要： The present disclosure is directed to a doped silica-titania glass, DST glass, consisting essentially of 0.1 wt.% to 5 wt.% halogen, 50 ppm-wt. to 6 wt.% of one or more oxides of Al, Ta and Nb, 3 wt.% to 10 wt.% TiO 2 and the remainder SiO 2 . In an embodiment the halogen content can be in the range of 0.2 wt.% to 3 wt.% along with 50 ppm-wt. to 6 wt.% one or more oxides of Al, Ta and Nb, 3 wt.% to 10 wt.% TiO 2 and the remainder SiO 2 . In an embodiment the DST glass has an OH concentration of less than 100 ppm. In another embodiment the OH concentration is less than 50 ppm. The DST glass has a Active temperature T f of less than 875°C. In an embodiment T f is less than 825°C. In another embodiment T f is less than 775°C.

摘要： This disclosure is directed to a silica-titania-niobia glass and to a method for making the glass. The composition of the silica-titania-niobia (SiO 2 -TiO 2 -Nb 2 O 5 ) glass, determined as the oxides, is Nb 2 O 5 in an amount in the range of 0.005 wt.% to 1.2 wt.% TiO 2 , in an amount in the range of 5 wt.% to 10 wt.%, and the remainder of glass is SiO 2 . In the method, the STN glass precursor is consolidated into a glass by heating to a temperature of 1600°C to 1700°C in flowing helium for 6 hours to 10 hours. When this temperature is reached, the helium flow can be replaced by argon for the remainder of the time. Subsequently the glass is cooled to approximately 1050°C, and then from 1050°C to 700°C followed by turning off the furnace and cooling the glass to room temperature at the natural cooling rate of the furnace.

摘要： The disclosure is directed to multilayer Mo/Si coatings for reflective mirrors used in extreme ultraviolet lithographic systems and to a method of making such mirrors using plasma ion assisted deposition (PIAD) techniques. The coating are deposited on a substrate suitable for EUV lithography, and are Mo/Si coating consisting of 40-100 Mo/Si periods, each period consisting on a Mo layer followed by a Si layer. Each of the individual Mo and Si layers is deposited to a specified or target thickness in the range of 2nm to 5nm, and the thicknesses are controlled to 0.1nm. A plasma from a plasma source is used to densify and smooth the substrate prior to deposition of the coating, and each layer of the coating is plasma densified and smoothed.

摘要： T This disclosure teaches the use of low density, "open" - structure glasses as backing glasses (14), behind glass - ceramic strike-faces (12), in transparent armor composite windows. These low density "open- structure 1 glasses are sometimes referred to as "anomalous" glasses. For transparent armor applications both silica, including fused silica, and borosilicate glasses can be used as backing glass. These backing glasses provide improved ballistics performance over that of standard commercial soda lime backing glass. These glasses should be used either in their as -formed state (e.g. float surfaces) or should be finished using a process designed for minimizing sub-surface damage.

In one embodiment the metallic edge material is machinable to enable final finish of the part to specification tolerances. One of a plurality of layers of the metallic material can be adhesively applied to edge. The glass articles have a selected length, selected width and selected thickness, and the metallic/adhesive edge protecting composite is applied to less than or equal to the thickness of the glass such that the protecting composite does not contact the surfaces of the glass.

摘要： Glass articles for use as covers in electronic devices and methods for forming the same are described herein. The glass articles generally include a shaped glass substrate comprising a first face, a second face and a perimeter edge. The shaped glass substrate may be formed from strengthened glass such that the shaped glass substrate has a compressive stress layer which improves the ability of the glass article to withstand surface damage without cracking. A polymer overmold is coupled to the attachment feature of the perimeter edge of the shaped glass substrate thereby protecting the perimeter edge of the shaped glass substrate from damage. In one embodiment, at least a portion of the perimeter edge of the shaped glass substrate comprises an attachment feature offset from the first face. In another embodiment the polymer overmold is integrally formed with at least one connector.

摘要： The invention is directed to a method of protecting a glass surface during transportation and/or process using an aqueous solution of an acrylic material to protectively coat the surface of the glass sheet. The acrylic protective coating is applied by dipping, roller applying or spraying the coating on the glass using an aqueous solution fo pH >= 9. The coating is then cured, dried or baked in an oven. Subsequently, the glass sheet is scored and separated into individual glass article blanks for further processing; for example, edge grinding to produce smooth edges and drilling/milling to produce openings such as holes in the surface of the glass. When processing of the glass article is completed, the protective coating can be removed or the article can be shipped to the end used who can remove the coating using an aqueous solution of pH > 12 to remove the coating.
