摘要： The present system provides a method for varying the value of passive components in electronic circuits. Passive components can range from basic resistors, capacitors, and inductors to complex, structures such as transmission lines and resonant cavities. Value selection and variation can either be dynamically performed during circuit operation or as a one-time part of the manufacturing process as determined by the requirements of the specific application. A digital-to-analog converter (DAC) circuit is used to input value selection data digitally, and control value selection with value resolution dependent on the resolution of the DAC. An alternate embodiment is provided for high frequency operation.

摘要： A fully premixed duct burner is provided that receives exhaust gas from a power generating device, such as a gas turbine or reciprocating engine. The burner may include a burner surface adapted to combust the mixture on or above the surface in blue- flame mode. Substantially all exhaust gas passes through the burner with the exception of some small fraction of exhaust gas that passes through cooling holes or slots. The burner assembly can also include an array of burner modules that receive substantially all of the exhaust gas and fully premixes the exhaust gas with burner fuel prior to combusting the mixture on or above an array of burner surfaces.

摘要： An optically active material is used to create power devices and circuits having significant performance advantages over conventional methods for affecting optical control of power electronics devices and circuits. A silicon-carbide optically active material is formed by compensating shallow donors with the boron related D-center. The resulting material can be n-type or p-type but it is distinguished from other materials by the ability to induce persistent photoconductivity in it when illuminated by electromagnetic radiation with a photon energy in excess of the threshold energy required to photoexcite electrons from the D-center to allowed states close to the conduction band edge, which varies from polytype to polytype.

摘要： Raman spectroscopy data is collected using a Spatial Heterodyne Spectrometer and processed in order to reduce signal noise. The processing of the Raman spectroscopy data includes segmenting generating an interferogram from the Raman spectroscopy data, segmenting the interferogram, determining an estimate of power spectrum density, and averaging the estimates of power spectrum density for each segment to provide an output spectrum. The output spectrum has greatly reduced variance of the individual power measurements, and allows the length of segments to be optimized to balance noise reduction operations and the loss of frequency resolution.
