    • Data objects replicated at multiple computers can be synchronized using synchronization messages exchanged over a network. The synchronization messages include a current operation parameter and a previous operation parameter that are processed to determine how and when the replicated data objects should be manipulated. The current operation parameter identifies an operation and associated data to be executed at a receiving computer to synchronize the receiving computer's data object. An execution stage parameter is also sent to identify a correct execution timing for the operation. The previous operation parameter identifies a preceding operation executed by the sending computer, an execution stage at which the preceding operation was executed, and the computer first originating the preceding operation (e.g., an identify of a third computer that first initiated the operation). Data in the synchronization message can also indicate a unique priority level of the sending computer with respect to the other computers.

    • A self-checkout system includes a graphical user interface for self-checkout of non-bar-coded items. The interface displayes a predetermined image corresponding to a non-bar-coded item, and means for the user to select the image. A product look up (PLU) entry device provides a PLU corresponding to the item selected by the user and a processing unit uses the selected PLU to retrieve price information from a database. The processing unit may also maintain a list of most frequently sold items and the image of at least on item on the list is provided on the display screen. The processing unit may update the display screen when the list of most requently sold items changes. Images of other non-bar-coded items can also be displayed.

    • Restructuring a CAD-system generated design model includes receiving at a computer a command to restructure the design model. The command to restructure indicates a desired change in a hierarchical relationship of a first subset of the model's components with respect to other model components. In accordance with the command to restructure, a new hierarchical data structure can be generated. The new hierarchical data structure identifies a new hierarchical relationship between the model components. Other relationships that are changed as a result of the command to restructure are also determined and are automatically preserved subsequent to the generation of the new hierarchical relationship.

    • A vacuum operated electrolytic generator can be used to produce a chlorine dioxide solution or a mist of chlorine dioxide from a buffered aqueous alkali metal chlorite solution in one pass through an electrolytic cell. The cell contains a high surface area anode, a corrosion-resistant highly conductive cathode, and a cation ion exchange membrane between the anode and cathode. An eductor is used on the anolyte effluent line to create a vacuum and draw the anolyte through the cell. Either motive water or a motive inert gas (such as air) is used in the eductor. Preferably, an eductor is used in the catholyte effluent line. An ascending anolyte effluent line with a non-corrosive check valve leads from the cell to the anode eductor. Sensors are used to monitor the composition of the anolyte effluent and/or the anolyte feed. The final product is a chlorine dioxide solution when water is used for the eduction. The final product is a mist consisting essentially of gaseous chlorine dioxide, an inert gas, and water vapor when an inert gas is used for the eduction. The mist is useful for application crop, soils, produce such as vegetables, fruit, and tobacco, fields, storage cellars, and the like.
