摘要： The present invention is directed to a guidewire configured to reduce the incidence of medical accidents when using guidewires including, but not limited to, the incidence of guidewires accidentally being pushed completely into a patient through a needle in the patient, guidewires accidently being left inside patients after the placement of central venous (and other) catheters, and guidewires accidently being left inside patients after removal of the catheter (at the end of an operation of other medical procedure). In particular, an intermediary portion (either in the form of a new shape (referred to herein as "an obstruction portion") or an alternate (e.g., more flexible) material) of the guidewire inhibits further advancement into the needle with pushing motion. (The intermediary portion can be implemented as an additional portion connected between the patient-side portion and the doctor-side portion of the guidewire as well.)

That hard disk drive is formatted and structured as the NHWP would expect to use it to boot and run. However, the structure of that hard disk is converted to a drive image file (compressed or uncompressed) that can be loaded into a Virtual Machine Environment (VME). By mounting the drive image (or a partition of a drive image), the VME can use the partition as if it were a device rather than a file.

摘要： A controller is a feedback-based energy estimator for controlling initial and refined estimates of energy usage of one/several buildings controlled thereby. An initial estimate of a building's energy needs for a specified future time ( e.g. , a month or a week ahead) are calculated, and over time, in conjunction with an energy company, the initial (and subsequent) estimate(s) are revised based on the costs of energy forecasted by the energy company. The controller may examine tasks to perform along with predictive information that may affect the building's energy needs ( e.g. , predicted temperature for the time of predicted energy needs). As expectations (or factors such as temperature) change, the energy company may be informed of additional energy that will be needed ( e.g. , if predicted temperature is increasing and cooling will be needed) or amount of excess energy expected ( e.g. , if predicted temperature is decreasing, requiring less cooling).

摘要： A federation of multinational PSTN, IP and cellular service providers coordinate their accounting by: populating a subscriber database of subscribers to one number services, a service providers database and a payments clearing database having amounts owed across the service providers based on the individual service provider's portion of pre-agreed payments for services; collecting accounting data from the service providers; updating the relevant databases with the data collected; and providing accounting data to the service providers and subscribers. Voice over IP service is applied to a cellular phone by selecting a compatible codec at peripheral gateways of IP network paths, thereby avoiding transcoding by a connecting multimedia terminal adapter. A portable module, multimedia terminal adapter cellular internet protocol gateway for media communications over an IP network (MTAC IPG) bridges a cellular network, an IP network and a PSTN so that a user may locally dial a cellular phone that is then used to enter the IP network and dial the called party. The MTAC IPG provides gateway functionality and packetizing.
