    • A method of calibrating a display hand in an electronic timepiece. The method comprises the steps of initializing a counter; stepping the rotor of the stepping motor a predetermined number of steps in a first direction and incrementing the counter; determining whether the counter is less than a predefined value representing at least the sum of the maximum number of steps needed from a zero position on the display to the maximum value on the display and the number of steps needed from the zero position on the display to the position such that a channel formed in one of the one or more gears would abut against a tab; and if so, stepping the rotor of the stepping motor the predetermined number of steps in the first direction, incrementing the counter and again determining whether the counter is less than the predefined value; and if not, rotating the rotor of the motor in a direction opposite the first direction the same number of steps needed from the zero position on the display to the position such that the channel would abut against the tab. Several calibration assembly constructions are also provided.

    • A gasket (1a) for a domestic appliance having a door (2) and a cabinet (5), for example a refrigerator, comprises a fastener (10a) for attaching the gasket (1a) to the door (2), and a bellows-type section (8) capable of forming a seal between the door (2) and the cabinet (5) of the appliance. The fastener (10a) comprises a fastener part (24) which locates in a formation (6) on the door (2), and an attachment means (21) for attaching the fastener (10a) to the bellows-type section (8). The fastener part (24) comprises two separate and independent resiliently deformable legs (25, 26) which are attached at one end to the attachment means (21) and turned back on themselves at the other end. In use, the legs directly engage with the formation (6) on the door (2) to keep the gasket (1a) in place on the door (2).

    • There is described a keyboard, particularly of a type having a 3D surface such as an ergonomic keyboard. In order to avoid the difficulty of connecting the keys to the electronic circuitry associated with the keyboard, the keyboard includes a flexible printed circuit connection membrane (26) comprising a main section (27) and a plurality of fingers (28-33). The keys are mounted on the fingers (28-33) which in turn are attached to the chassis (10) of the keyboard. Connections to the keys are taken along the fingers, through the main section (27) of the membrane and to a connection section (not visible) at which connections are made to the associated electronic circuitry, mounted on a conventional printed circuit board.

    • A display device or stand therefor, intended to promote frequent changes in a (5) user's posture by the continuous movement of its display screen (1) in a horizontal and/or vertical manner. In a preferred embodiment the display device comprises a vertical hollow column (10) slidably attached by a saddle (11) to a horizontal hollow column (20). The display screen (1) is mounted on a support (30) fitted with a pivot (32) to a moveable collar (31) slidably mounted on vertical column (1). The saddle (11) and (10) collar (31) are driven by respective electric motors (41, 40). The support (30) may incorporate an arm (33) and a rotating wheel (34) running on an offset bar (35) mounted on column (10) by blocks (36, 37). Because of the pivot (32) and due to the slope of the bar (35) the display screen (1) tilts forwards or backwards as it is raised or lowered.
