    • The present invention is directed to a tray handler for stacking and de-stacking ophthalmic prescription trays. The tray handler includes a plurality of spaced clamp assemblies defining a stack area along a conveyor, a lift plate, and first and second actuators. The lift plate is operably disposed within the stack area. The first actuator is operably associated with the clamp assemblies, which are inwardly and outwardly moveable relative the lift plate upon actuation of the first actuator. The second actuator is operably associated with the lift plate, which is vertically moveable within the stack area upon actuation of the second actuator. A controller is in communication with the first and second actuators and controls actuation thereof. A method of handling ophthalmic prescription trays is also disclosed.

    • An intake valve assembly of an internal combustion engine that includes a combustion chamber and an intake passage. The intake valve assembly comprises a primary valve provided to seal against a primary valve seat formed in an intake port, a secondary valve mounted about the primary valve coaxially therewith and provided to seal against a secondary valve seat formed in the intake port, and a secondary valve lifter fixed to the primary valve so as to be axially spaced from the secondary valve when both the primary and secondary valves are in closed positions. The secondary valve is operated mechanically by the secondary valve lifter and fluidly in response to pressure differential between the intake passage and the combustion chamber.

    • A portable hand held power inverter/converter having a pass through device for simultaneously sourcing A.C. and multiple voltage D.C. power consuming devices through a single D.C. power source connection. Inverter and converter circuitry is provided to invert and convert D.C. voltage to an A.C. voltage source and a lower DC voltage. A.C. electrical outlets are provided to facilitate a connection to an external A.C. power-consuming device and a DC outlet to a lower volt DC power-consuming device. The pass through device provides an independent and simultaneous connection to an additional D.C. outlet that would otherwise be eliminated when occupied by the inverter thus allowing simultaneous connection and operation of both A.C. and multi source D.C power consuming devices through a single external D.C. power outlet of a single D.C. power source.

    • The present invention is directed to a method of controlling an edger device, and a machine programmed to edge a lens blank. A lens blank and an edger are provided. The edger device is capable of forming a groove in a peripheral edge of the lens, and forming at least one hole extending from a first major surface of the lens to a second major surface. A CPU is provided, which is operably associated with the edger device for controlling operation of the edger device. Processing instructions are transmitted from the central processing unit to the edger device. The processing instructions comprise: forming a groove in a peripheral edge of a lens blank; and forming at least one hole in the lens blank extending from the first major surface to the second major surface.
