    • Folded sheet means (201, 10) (e.g. substantially one-half or one-third of credit card size) (e.g. in the form of a kit of parts) comprises a sheet (221, 12) of paper or like material with a first set of concertina folds (261, 14) and a second set of concertina folds (281, 16) transverse to the first set, at which folds (261, 281, 14, 16) the sheet (221, 12) can be folded and unfolded, connection means (1061, 52) adapted to serve as or as part of means for releasably connecting between the folded sheet means (201, 10) and another object, and holding means (241, 22, 24) adapted for releasably holding the folded sheet means folded. The folded sheet material (221) may be (e.g. removably) in a carrier (961) movable into and out from the container (241). A tail (1061) suitable for connection to a key-ring, luggage or other portable object is provided, e.g. on the carrier (961). The container (241) may comprise two sheet-like portions (401, 421) hinged together and adapted to be releasably fastened together about the folded sheet (221). Two stiff portions (18, 20) are in diagonally opposite corners respectively of the sheet (12) when it is unfolded, and said holding means comprise a releasable connection (22), e.g. two tongues (26, 28) extending from one of said stiff portions (18) inwardly thereof in opposite directions. Part or all of the connection means (522, 523, 662) may be provided in common with part or all of the holding means (522, 523, 662). The folded sheet means (10) may have a back portion (138) provided with releasable self-adhesive material for attaching it to a holding surface (107) and a front portion (208) adapted for grasping and opening the sheet (12).

    • A creel comprising yarn package supports (6) which are swingable between respective unwinding positions and respective re-loading positions, and which are removable from the creel solely by movement of the supports (6). The creel provides a fast and efficient means for replacing yarn packages of various sizes. A retaining device (4) for use on a creel, the retaining device (4) comprising a bracket (4) for securement to the creel and a yarn package support (6) retained by the bracket (4), the support (6) being swingable with respect to the bracket (4), to move between an unwinding position and re-loading position, and being disengageable from the bracket (4) to enable it to be withdrawn from the creel. A creel comprising a plurality of elongate members (2) for carrying yarn packages: means for varying the number and/or spacing of the elongate members (2); a plurality of supports (6) for yarn packages, carried by each elongate member (2), each support (6) being swingable between an unwinding position and a re-loading position,and being disengageable from the creel; and means for varying the number and/or spacing of the supports (6) on each elongated member (2).

    • A folding wheelbarrow is adjustable between erected and folded positions and comprises a pair of handle members (213, 214), a pair of leg members (219, 220), a wheel (216) and a collapsible (222) container of flexible sheet material. Forward portions of the handle members are hingedly connected together to form a kicker portion when erected, and rear portions of the handle members are laterally spaced apart for gripping. Forward portions of the leg members are hingedly connected together and located above the forward portions of the handle members when the wheelbarrow is erected, and rear portions of the leg members provide spaced apart legs to support the wheelbarrow. Each leg member is hinged to an adjacent arm member for rotation about a respective main hinge axis. The wheel is mounted for rotation about a transversely extending axle which is hingedly and slidably connected to the forward portions of the handle members. The collapsible container is made of a flexible sheet material and is located between the forward portions of the leg members and the rear portions of the handle member. A stiffening structure extends between the arm members and the leg members to limit relative movement therebetween about the main axis to stiffen the wheelbarrow when erected. A limiting structure limits rotation of the handle members about the handle axes.

    • The invention provides position-sensing means (10) that comprise two potentiometer areas (12, 14) face to face, each said area (12, 14) having a connection (60, 62, 64, 66) at each of two opposite sides able to be used to apply a potential gradient across the area (12, 14), transmission means (18) to enable transmission to each said area (e.g. 14) of a position-indicating signal (20) derived from the other area (e.g. 12) at a position (24) to be sensed, high impedance amplification means (72) and microprocessor means (98) having four ports (741, 761, 781, 801) connected or able to be connected respectively to the four connections (60, 62, 64, 66) and adapted or programmable to switch between a first condition to apply a said gradient across one said area (e.g. 12) and connect the other said area (e.g. 14) to the high impedance amplification means (72) to produce a signal (92) indicative of the potential at said position (24) and hence indicative of a coordinate of said position (24) and a second condition to apply a said gradient across said other area (e.g. 14) and connect said one area (e.g. 12) to the high impedance amplification means (72) to produce a signal (92) indicative of the potential at said position (24) and hence indicative of another coordinate of said position (24). It also provides sensing means (10) that are adapted to be interrogated to indicate a sensed position (24); and/or that comprise means (98, 130, 132, 134, 136, 138, 150, 152) adapted or programmable to adopt a low power consumption condition between interrogations and possibly to detect whether interrogations have failed to occur and consequentially to adopt an even lower power consumption condition; and/or that comprise an element (34) adapted to be positioned by a thumb where each possible position of the positioning element (34) corresponds to a unique position of the thumb. It also provides a system that comprises a devices (196) to be controlled and a plurality of controllers (194) for the device (196) each comprising position-sensing means as above.
