Warp threads, uniting.-Relates to warp twisting-in machines of the type wherein the end portions of the two warps project upwardly side bv side, and are advanced in pairs, one thread from each warp to twisting devices comprising a rotary twisting-pad 6, Fig. 2, and a recessed fixed twisting-pad 5, each being of rubber &c. and being provided with buttons 7, Figs. 1 and 2, secured in notches in supports 9, 8. One pad 5 is capable of slight movement towards its support and can rock on a yielding bearing comprising a ball 13, Fig. 4, protruding from the face of the pad and backed by a spring 14, the ball and spring being held in a ferrule 15. The bearing is placed near the outer periphery of the pad so that when the intertwisted ends pass the fulcrum 13 the pressure decreases, thus allowing for the increased bulk of the material due to the ends B now twisting about the right-hand thread B. The thread extremities B are held by a clamp u . The threads are held by a fork 3 and by the points i of another fork.

The spiral also extends beyond its head plate 13 so as to draw the threads against the head and stretch them between the head and the guides 6b in the plane of the twisting device 7, 8. Specification 541/05 is referred to.
