摘要： The invention is a pressure responsive shut-off valve (11) including a valve housing (12) that defines a fluid inlet (13) and a fluid outlet (14) separated by a valve seat (16). A valve closure (17) accommodated by the valve seat (16) moves between open and closed positions to control fluid flow between the inlet (13) and outlet (14). Controlling the valve (11) is a valve operator (25) including a pressure responsive piston (29) that moves between a set position in which the valve closure (17) is separated from the valve seat (16) and a release position in which the closure (17) is seated on the seat (16) to prevent fluid flow between the inlet (13) and outlet. Retaining the piston (29) is a cylinder body (26) that defines an activating volume (27) communicating with the inlet (13) and establishing on one face of the piston (29) a fluid pressure forcing the piston (29) towards its release position, and a reference volume (28) communicating with the inlet (13) and establishing on the opposite face of the piston (29) a reference volume (28). An internal seal (39) isolates the inlet (13) from the reference volume (28) with the piston (29) in its set position while allowing fluid communication therebetween with the piston (29) in its release position. Maintaining the piston (29) in the set position is a latching mechanism (35) that, after activation of the piston (29) to its release position by excessive pressure, can be restored by a manual reset (45, 46).

摘要： In a latching device cooperable with a pair of spaced hasps, a pair of spaced latch mechanisms which are biased toward unlatching condition are held in latching condition by respective longitudinally movable control members. A manually rotatable control knob located intermediate the latch mechanisms and cooperable with the control members is movable to a release position which permits the latch mechanisms to be urged into unlatching condition, the latch mechanisms being returnable manually to latching condition. 摘要： 1336425 Buckle combination locks WALTER KIDDE & CO INC 16 Oct 1972 [25 Jan 1972] 47587/72 Heading E2A A combination lock of the type disclosed in United Kingdom Specifications 1254609 and 1187538 is applied to a buckle. The buckle comprises a body member B pivotally connected to a loop member A, the body member including a face plate C connected to a frame member D a cavity 28 being formed therebetween. The aforementioned lock is housed in the cavity and the dials F thereof each have a portion extending through a co-operating slot 26 in the face plate C. The bolt I of the lock in the "on combination" position of the dials F allows inward movement of plug members H so as to clear blocking members 34 provided on the loop member A. In the "off combination" position a portion 88 of the bolt I blocks inward movement of the plug member H. In the unlocked condition of the buckle (Fig. 4, not shown) a portion 94 of the bolt is held in a cavity in the face plate so that the rotational positions of the dials cannot be altered. Similarly a projection 118 on the lever L provided for resetting the combination engages the bolt in the "off combination" position of the dials so that the combination cannot be reset in the condition of the lock. The plug members and blocking member are complementarily beveled.

摘要： 1478370 Rotary deadbolt WALTER KIDDE & CO INC 20 Aug 1974 [10 Oct 1973] 36580/74 Heading E2A Fastening devices e.g. for luggage cases, &c comprise a frame on one member and having a projection thereon, a manually operable deadbolt rotatable on the projection, and a keeper on the other member, the deadbolt engaging the keeper and drawing it toward the frame as the deadbolt is rotated to the closed position and releasing it as it is rotated in the opposite direction to the open position. As shown, the device comprises frame B with a deadbolt C cooperating with keeper element E having a boss 12. Frame B comprises a portion 24 for connection to a handle, a base 26 and a projection 28 on which is pivoted the deadbolt C which has a planar top and sides 70, 72, the deadbolt C being held thereon by a leaf spring (D, Figs. 1, 2, 4 not shown). Side 70 engages boss 12 on rotation. Projection 28 has a stop 90, surface 92 of which contacts side 70 of deadbolt C when in the closed position, surface 94 contacts side 72 thereof when in the open position, surfaces 96, 98 and surface 100 of projection 28 forming guide surfaces for boss 12. Deadbolt C also has a locking bolt (102, Figs. 1, 2, 5 not shown) having a key-engageable notch (108), and an end portion (104) engaging recess 106 in projection 28 when locked to prevent rotation of deadbolt C. A section (132) of a plate (110) has detents (134, 136 Figs. 5, 11, 12 not shown) engaging projection (138) on bolt (102) to retain it in its locked or unlocked position. Base 26 of frame B has an opening (148) for a ball 150 urged upwardly by extension (152) of leaf spring (D) and engaging recesses under deadbolt C to retain it in its open or closed positions.

摘要： Improved hardware for luggage comprises handle studs mounted on a valance member and pivotally supporting latches that are spring-biased to an open position and that are held closed by spring-biased control rods.
