    • Methods and systems for controlled gritting of routes. e.g. roads, are disclosed. A gritting vehicle (3) has a continuously-operating position detection arrangement e.g. GPS and has an on-board information processor (MDT) in which route data such as forecast thermal map data are stored. The stored data can be transmitted to the vehicle (3) from a control station processor via a radio link. Real-time positional data are compared with the route data in the vehicle's processor and generate gritting instructions to control whether and how much grit is deposited at a given location. Positional and gritting status information may be transmitted back to the control station (1) progressively for recording. On-board sensors (S) may be used to supplement forecast data.

    • A prosthetic gripping device includes an elongated support member haivng first and second end portions and an intermediate portion extending between the first and second end portions, a gripping head attached to the second end portion for holding an implement, and a sleeve to be secured on the arm of a user in order to hold the first end portion of the support member on the arm. The first end portion of the support member is dimensioned and arranged to be held on the arm by the sleeve in a position adjacent the inner wrist such that the support member extends toward the hand, the intermediate portion is dimensioned and arranged to curve slightly over the heel of the hand, and the second end portion is dimensioned and arranged to extend to the palm of the hand with the gripping head being thereby supported at the palm of the hand. Angled slots and holes may be provided in the gripping head for advantageous implement position, and the support member and sleeve may be arranged as a wrist brace to provide wrist support.

    • A mobile automotive servicing facility (100) expands from a closed configuration for transport on highways and roads into a multibay service facility including multiple lifts (142) for servicing automobiles, a restroom (222), a customer waiting room/office area (144) and other amenities. In the closed configuration, the mobile automotive servicing facility resembles a double drop trailer. When deployed for maintenance on automobiles, outer side walls (120) of the facility are pivoted to extend the roof of the facility on both sides. Then inner side walls (122) are pivoted to extend the floor of the facility in an area under the extended roof. The extended floor (122) provides a ramp for ingress and egress of automobiles into the interior (128) of the facility. Contained within the interior of the facility are automobile lifts (142) and equipment for servicing the automobile, including oil change and chassis lubrication, filter replacement, wiper blade replacement, belt replacement and additional services.

    • A combination visual aid and protective device for use on the string end of a game racquet frame, the device being constructed of a thin, light-weight, brightly colored vinyl material that is predisposed to assume an arcuate shape that intimately conforms to the complex curved surface of the game racquet frame, in a manner to prevent the device from slipping relative to the frame.The device includes a plurality of stress relief holes that function to permit the device to conform to the racquet frame surface and to reduce its weight as much as possible.The visual aid and protective device is attached to the string end of the game racquet frame by a plurality of plastic coated wire-like attachment devices having generally rectangular cross-sections. These attachment devices engage corresponding, generally oval attachment holes in opposite attachment tabs of the protective device, in a manner to distribute the force (stress) of the attachment devices across more surface area of the holes in order to permit a tighter contact of the device with the racquet frame, without causing the attachment devices to tear through the tabs at the attachment holes.
