    • A contact lever has a contact point on one end for a fixed contact element and is supported on its other end on a pin which, when the switch is tripped, is capable of moving along a path transversely to the longitudinal direction of the contact lever. A compression spring acts upon the contact lever between a stop for the contact lever, which is embodied by a housing element and the pin in order to generate the contact pressure to move the pin upon the tripping of a switch. The stop has two protrusions, oriented towards the contact lever, one of which is located farther from the pin and closer to the contact lever than the other. The contact lever, therefore, upon being tripped, pivots first about the protrusion, which is more remote from the pin being moved, and then about the protrusion disposed closer to the pin. As a result, it is possible solely by means of the shaping of the stop to attain a high contact-breaking force at the first instant of the tripping, and to attain a long contact-opening path up until the termination of the pivoting movement of the contact lever.

    • A bipolar protective switch has a two-piece housing. An electromagnet constitutes the actuating device made either in the form of a zero voltage actuator or an excess current actuator. The armature of the electromagnet drops in the event of a voltage failure or is attracted if an excess current appears, thus disconnecting the switch. The switch can be turned back on again only after the voltage returns or normal current returns by the actuating device. A rocker is disposed on the narrow upper surface between the two pieces of the housing as the actuating member. The electromagnet and connecting members are disposed on the underside of the housing, a portion of the electromagnet being located between the two pieces of the housing. A support of an insulating material, is disposed in the housing upon which support connecting members are disposed. Two fixed contact members located side by side and two movable contacts, as well as a lever which is common to the two movable contacts is swivelable, and is subject to the force of a spring, the lever being connected to the rocker by a yoke. The lever is lockably connected with one arm of a two-armed release lever disposed on the support, the other arm being effectively connected with a release rod of the electromagnet.

    • A bell-crank-like switching connector is supported on a switch rod having a pushbutton such that it is pivotable and is displaceable along the switch rod. A first lever arm of the switching connector is lockable underneath a protrusion of a bimetallic strip. A second arm bears a contact piece associated with a fixed contact piece. Tabs protrude beyond a latching edge of the first lever arm and upon switching on of the switch they slide over lateral regions of an associated latching edge of the protrusion of the bimetallic strip and thereby make a wear-producing mechanical contact of the two latching edges impossible. The switching connector is exposed to the pressure of a switch spring coaxial with the switch rod. A button spring acting upon the pushbutton and having a substantially smaller spring rate is likewise disposed coaxially with the switch rod and is supported on the switching connector. The contact pressure and the contact separating force are therefore determined practically only by the switch spring. For switching the switch on, the end face of the switch rod presses upon an extension of the second lever arm running on a housing projection, in order to make the contact piece of the second lever arm approach the fixed contact piece and to reduce contact chatter. A recess in the switch rod for the extension causes a long spacing distance between the contacts to be maintained in an unintended tripping position of the switch.

    • The undervoltage tripping device has an electromagnet with a magnet winding (3), a core (10) and an armature (20) and a tripping member (50) able to perform a tripping movement. In the ready-to-trip state the armature is in an attracted position on the core, is spring loaded in the dropping direction, but is prevented from dropping from the core by the magnetic force of attraction produced by the electromagnet. The tripping member is also spring loaded in this state, but is prevented from performing the tripping movement by the attracted armature. The electromagnet is a d.c. magnet. A rectifier is provided for rectifying the current flowing through magnet winding. Mechanical aids are provided for feeding the armature into the attracted position. The tripping member is latched in self-release manner in the ready-to-trip state. The latching effect is released when the armature drops.

    • A pushbutton-operated circuit breaker has a thermal release and an independent trip which can be mannually operated to trip the circuit breaker from the "on" position to the "off" position by depressing the pushbutton. A slide is provided within the switch which, when contacted by the pushbutton, forces a bimetallic spring to bend and release the switch. The slide is movable within the switch such that it is outside of the path of movement of the pushbutton when the circuit breaker is being switched from the "off" to the "on" position, but is engageable by the pushbutton when in the "on" position.
