    • A screw driving and turning machine comprises: a body having a nose portion; a driving cylinder received in the body; a screw driving mechanism having a driving piston having a driving and turning bit slidably accommodated in the driving cylinder, wherein compressed air is fed into the driving cylinder to drive the driving piston, and a screw held in the nose portion of the body is driven to a state in which a head portion of the screw is raised; a screw turning mechanism having an air motor driven by a portion of compressed air fed to the driving cylinder, for turning the screw, which has been driven by the driving piston; a stop valve for opening and closing an air passage between the driving cylinder and the air motor, arranged in the middle of the air passage; and a contact arm slidably arranged along the nose portion, for operating the stop valve by being pushed to the body in accordance with pressing an end of the contact arm against a material into which the screw is driven, wherein the feed of compressed air from the driving cylinder to the air motor is stopped by closing the stop valve when the contact arm is pushed to a predetermined position by pressing an end of the contact arm against the material into which the screw is driven.

    • A screw tightener using coupled screws comprises: a screw tightener body including a driver bit; a nose portion movable in the axial direction of the driver bit; a spring usually urging the nose portion to move forward from the screw tightener body; a feed wheel rotatably supported by the nose portion, wherein coupled screws supplied to the nose portion are fed in the direction of extension of the driver bit by interlocking the rotation of the feed wheel with the movement of the nose portion to be forced into the screw tightener body; retaining members for mutually retaining the screw tightener body and the nose portion when the indentation force is released after the nose portion is moved to be forced partway into the screw tightener body; and guide groove for preventing the retaining members from retaining when the nose portion is caused by the spring to undergo a reset movement with respect to the screw tightener body after the nose portion is moved to be forced into the screw tightener body by a predetermined movement.

    • A feed roller 32 is disposed in a magazine section 1 such that the feed roller 32 is in press contact with the lower side of a sheet-like staple fed out of a cartridge 13. A rack is formed in the support means of the magazine section 1. The feed roller 32 is operatively coupled with the magazine section 1 through a one-way clutch gear 34 in mesh with the rack 33. Only when the magazine section 1 separates from the clincher section 4, the one-way clutch gear 34 operates to rotate the feed roller 32 in the staple supply direction. The rotation of the one-way clutch gear 34 can be adjusted by a gear ratio of the combination of the one-way clutch gear 34 and the rack 33. Therefore, a sufficient quantity of feeding the sheet-like lowest staple is secured. The feed roller 32 is rotated by utilizing the forward/backward motion of the magazine section 1 with respect to the clincher section. Therefore, provision of any special drive means for rotation is not required.
