摘要： A high speed document manipulator providing high resolution digital video-signal output. A document transport (10) moves the documents (2) at a high speed for entrance (1) flip-over (31) and exit (30), and at about one-fifth that speed for video scanning while moving for producing the video signal. Servo control (43) provides a forward and back initial motion to obtain top to bottom scanning. The servo circuit is electrically protected (70). The video sensor (18) is firmly coupled to the optical system (17). An elongated light source (20) elliptical reflector (21) and "cool" mirror (22) provide an elongated transverse illuminated area on the document as it moves through.

摘要： A microfiche camera suited to expose a wide selection of film widths at relatively high speeds and with required precision. The objective lens is stationary and the film is moved transversely to accomplish the multiple independent exposures characteristic of the fiche format. A photoelectric cell-format disk assembly accurately controls the lateral position of the film by coaction with a servomotor. A mechanical cable wound around a power drum translates a film-carrying carriage. The cable is kept taut by a torsion spring surrounding the hub of the drum. A stepper-motor supported by the film carriage translates the film longitudinally. A pinch roller system having spring flanges at the edges maintains precise transverse alignment at the lens aperture gate despite intervening transverse motion of the film.

As shown, apparatus for copying a moving document has lens 14, capstan 15 having a magnetic clutch and brake (not shown), sensitive film guide rollers 19/20 and 25/26 movable along channels 21/22 and 27/28 respectively between operative and inoperative positions, film supply reel 6 have a fixed drag clutch (52), Fig. 6 (not shown) and film take-up reel 10 having a clutch (54) Figs. 3 and 5 (not shown) providing a film drive force (except for rapid film take-up) which is inversely proportional to the film tension. Rollers 19 and 20 are moved to either operative or inoperative positions by rotation of a cassette-releasing catch 38; rollers 25 and 26, which constitute dancer rollers in the operative position, are moved to the inoperative position against a spring bias by corresponding movement of rollers 19 and 20. Capstan 15 and reel 10 have a common drive (Fig. 3).
