SOLUTION: The invention relates to a masking system for masking a cylinder bore 2 of a combustion engine 3 during a thermal coating procedure including a masking body 4 which can be placed during the thermal coating of a first cylinder 5 of the combustion engine 3 in the cylinder bore 2 of a second cylinder 7 to cover a cylinder wall 6 of the second cylinder 7. In this arrangement the masking body 4 is designed in such a way that a flow gap 10 of predeterminable breadth can be set between the masking body 4 and the cylinder wall 6 of the second cylinder 7 for the production of a flow 8 of a fluid.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for thermally coating a component laminate, and an improved device having the component laminate.SOLUTION: A component 2 has a continuous component opening 21, and is aligned to a laminate axial line A so that a component laminate 1 has a continuous laminate opening 11.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an abradable coating suitable for a blade tip in a fluid machine. SOLUTION: A wear surface is used as the abradable coating in the fluid machine. The wear surface 10 is formed by elimination of a material by the move of the blade tip. The surface is formed by ribs 15 surrounding space-like depressions 11. The abradable coating forms a pattern formed by strip-like constituent elements 5, and the constituent elements are located along the directions of the ribs on connection lines 45 connecting between bending points 41, 42 of a reference grid 40. In the greater part at each location of the wear surface 10, that is, in a part exceeding at least 80-90% of the wear surface, the rib direction differs from the moving direction v of the blade tip 2. In two thirds of the wear surface, the moving direction deviates from the rib direction by more than 30°, preferably more than 45°.
