A signaling network management message is received, at a first signaling gateway, from a first signaling network. Routing control information associated with the first signaling gateway is updated based on the signaling network management message. The first SIGTRAN protocol signaling network management message is based on the signaling network management message. 摘要： Described are methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for common telephony services to multiple devices associated with multiple networks. A centralized packet-based network is provided that is capable of providing the common telephony services associated with a subscriber to a first telephony device of the subscriber associated with a first network and to a second telephony device of the subscriber associated with a second network. Each call placed to or from a subscriber's device is routed to the centralized, packet-based network. Each device can be assigned an identical unique identifier. The packet-based service provider network can perform a handoff of the call while the call is in process from the first device associated with the first network to the second device associated with the second network.

A plurality of logical trunk groups are defined for a first media gateway in communication with a packet-based network. Each of the plurality of logical trunk groups is associated with one or more media gateways in communication over the packet-based network with the first media gateway. Data associated with a call that is received or transmitted by the media gateway is associated with a first logical trunk group of the plurality of logical trunk groups. Calls and call traffic can be monitored and managed by employing control features associated with logical trunk groups, including managing by using resource parameters. 摘要： A gateway apparatus (200) includes multiple network server cards (206N) whic h are synchronized with each other to allow time slot switching of synchronous data across an asynchronous medium between source and destination server cards. The gateway (200) includes synchronization logic and a data adaptatio n layer which implements a protocol for formatting of synchronous serial data. The data undergoes serial to parallel conversion and is formed into per time slot subpackets which are further packetized along with context and synchronization data. The packet is transmitted through an asynchronous swit ch after which the packet is disassembled into its constituent subpackets and queued into play-out buffers according to each subpackets' associated contex t and synchronization data. The apparatus (200) allows synchronous data to be switched from a source time slot to a destination time slot across the asynchronous switch with a known, fixed delay. The gateway apparatus (200) requires only a single asynchronous switch to transmit data between and amon g both the synchronous and asynchronous domains.

A first set of a plurality of requests are transmitted to a server at a first transmission rate during a first period of time. The first transmission rate is limited to be less than or equal to a first transmission limit rate. An overload value is determined based on whether at least two or more requests of the first set of requests for service satisfy an overload criterion. A second transmission limit rate is determined based on the overload value and the first transmission limit rate. A second set of a plurality of requests is transmitted to the server at a second transmission rate during a second period of time. The second transmission rate is limited to be less than or equal to the second transmission limit rate.

The content control includes two sets of filters - an ingress filter set and an egress filter set.
