    • A method for processing requests includes receiving, from a requestor, a first read request to read a portion of a seismic cube. The first read request includes a virtual location of the portion. The method further includes querying a seismic cube index to obtain a mapping parameter and a storage location of a section including the portion of the seismic cube. The mapping parameter maps virtual locations in the seismic cube with data locations in the section. The section is identified using the virtual location of the portion. The method further includes calculating, on a computer processor and using the mapping parameter, a data location in the section corresponding to the virtual location of the portion, and transmitting a second read request to the storage location of the section. The second read request includes the data location. The requestor receives the portion from the storage location.

    • The magnitude of asphaltic precipitation when injecting a viscosity reducing diluent into a reservoir formation, notably to assist oil recovery therefrom, is forecast by (i) determining a relationship between asphaltic precipitation and a solubility parameter for the diluted oil, and then (ii) utilizing that relationship to forecast the magnitude of asphaltic precipitation when injecting a predetermined viscosity reducing diluent into the formation. Making this forecast may be followed by injecting a viscosity reducing diluent into the formation to assist oil recovery. The diluent may in particular be supercritical carbon dioxide or other asphaltene precipitant mixed with a more polar material in proportions designed by forecasting asphaltic precipitation by candidate materials in possible proportions.

    • A system and method for performing stimulation operations at a wellsite having a subterranean formation with of a reservoir therein is provided. The method involves generating a plurality of quality indicators from a plurality of logs, and combining the plurality of quality indicators to form a composite quality indicator. The plurality of stress blocks may then be merged using diversion criterion. The composite quality indicator may be combined with the merged stress blocks to form a combined stress and composite quality indicator, the combined stress and composite quality indicator comprising a plurality of blocks with boundaries therebetween. The method may further comprise defining stages along the combined stress and composite quality indicator based on the diverter-assisted stage classifications; and selectively positioning perforations in select stages based on the diverter-assisted stage classifications thereon.
