    • A cleaning device for moving sieves is disclosed, in particular for swinging sieves of a sorting station with a cleaning element that lies on the bottom of the sieve.     • The invention concerns a method and device for twisting binding wire, the device comprising a longitudinally moving twisting head fitted to a machine for winding the wire round a bundle. The aim of the invention is to ensure, even with frequent changes in bundle shape, a consistently short and tightly twisted length of wire without the need to reset the operating parameters of the machine. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that, irrespective of the shape of the bundle (1), the twisting head (13) is brought up to the bundle (1) into a predetermined starting position and moved away from the bundle in the longitudinal direction, executing a predetermined number of rotations in order to twist the crossed ends of the wire (2). The leading end of the wire (2) is then released and the trailing end cut off the continuously running wire (2), the free ends being further twisted and the twisting head (13) subsequently being moved back in the opposite direction, i.e. towards the bundle, into its starting position. The untwisted extremities of the ends of the wire (2) are then pushed by a pressing element in towards the bundle (1) and up against the side of the twisted section of wire.
