    • The present invention relates to a solid oral pharmaceutical preparation with protracted release of the active ingredient consisting of discrete solid granules containing the active ingredient soluble in the stomach and auxiliary agents and of an equally solid external phase surrounding the said granules, whereby the granules forming the internal phase consist of granules prepared from a powder mixture which contains as active ingredient, or in addition to it a non-toxic metal compound, being capable of binding an acid, and being insoluble or but slightly soluble in neutral aqueous medium--particularly bismuth, aluminium or magnesium compound--and auxiliary materials prepared with an aqueous emulsion containing a hydrophobic component and hydrophylic emulsifiers, and the external phase contains a solid, dry, amphoteric gel forming substance in an amount of 1-50 percent w/w related to the total weight of the preparation in admixture with auxiliary agents. The preparation is produced by the wetting of the powder mixture containing the basic metal compound, auxiliary material and in given case additional active ingredient with the aqueous emulsion of the hydrophobic component prepared by applying the hydrophylic emulsifiers then by granulation and admixing the dried granules with the amphoteric gel forming substance, and pressing it into tablets, or filling into capsules.

    • Cooling water is supplied to a load, e.g. a thermal-power station, from a source of water such as a lake or stream susceptible to changes in level. The system comprises a first pump drawing water from the source, a filter arrangement downstream of the first pump, a duct downstream of the filter arrangement and a second pump connected between the duct and the input side of the load. The downstream side of the load, from which the warm water emerges, is passed through a second duct and then preferably through a warm-water level control arrangement before being disposed in a sink or other basin. A connection between the discharge duct and the feed duct is permanently maintained and allows water to flow from the feed duct to the discharge duct or vice versa in dependence upon the relative quantities of liquid displaced by the pump. As a result, the water fed through the second pump can have its temperature adjusted by mixing with warm water automatically.

    • Peptisable natural aluminum hydrosilicate organo complexes are separated from water-insoluble organic and/or inorganic mineral materials and from natural aluminum hydrosilicate organo complexes that cannot be peptised in water, by milling mineral materials such as clay or brown coal to a size smaller than 60 microns, vigorously mechanically agitating the mixture at 60 to 120.degree. C. so as to dissociate the same to the colloidal state, during which the hydrophilic binding positions of the material are loosened by hydration, and finally separating the thus-formed peptised solution from insoluble material. The solution may be concentrated and the insoluble material itself is useful because of increased calorific value and higher specific surface area. Peptisation may be carried out in the presence of peptising agents such as ammonia-soda, Na.sub.2 CO.sub.3, NaOH, KOH, or cetyl-pyridine-chloride, in an amount up to 5% by weight.
