    • A compression pin for compressing two bone regions together includes a body having a distal end, a proximal end, a first threaded region, and a second threaded region. The first region is positioned near the distal end, with the second region positioned near the first region. The first region includes a first thread having a leading surface at a first leading angle, and a trailing surface at a first trailing angle. The second region includes a second thread having a leading surface at a second leading angle, and a trailing surface at a second trailing angle, each respective second angle different from the respective first angle. The first thread has a first thread shape and the second thread has a second thread shape that is substantially opposite to the first thread shape. During insertion of the pin, th first region and second region cooperate to compress the bone regions.
