摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant antigen-binding region and an antibody and a functional fragment containing such an antigen-binding region that are specific for CD38, also to provide a nucleic acid sequence encoding the antibody, a vector containing the sequence, a pharmaceutical composition and a kit with an instruction for use, and further to provide an isolated novel epitope of CD38 and a method of use therefor.SOLUTION: The invention provides an isolated antibody or a functional antibody fragment that contains an antigen-binding region that is specific for an epitope of CD38, where the antibody or the functional fragment thereof is able to mediate killing of a CD38+ target cell (LP-1 (DSMZ: ACC41) and RPMI-8226 (ATCC: CCL-155)) by antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity ("ADCC") with an at least two- to five-fold better efficacy than the chimeric OKT10 antibody having SEQ ID NOS: 23 and 24, when a human PBMC cell is employed as an effector cell, and when the ratio of effector cells to target cells is between about 30:1 and about 50:1.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a human- and humanized-antibody enabling to effectively inhibit interactions of GM-CSF/GM-CSF receptor; an antibody safe on administration to humans; and a method for remedying diseases and/or conditions relating to the existence of GM-CSF by using one or more antibodies.SOLUTION: There are provided a recombinant type antigen binding region, antibody and functional fragments thereof specific to GM-CSF playing an important role in various diseases or conditions. In response to this, these antibodies can be used to remedy e.g. inflammatory diseases such as articular rheumatism. This antibody can also be used in diagnostic fields similar to investigation in more detail of roles of GM-CSF in the progression of various diseases. There are also provided a nucleic acid sequence encoding the antibody, a vector including the antibody, a pharmaceutical composition and a kit with an instruction leaflet.

Also disclosed are: the use of said new vector for the regulated heterologous expression of a nucleic acid sequence in a Pseudomonas host cell; an isolated and purified nucleic acid sequence expressible in a Pseudomonas host cell comprising the promoter region of the L-rhamnose operon; and a method for producing a polypeptide in a host using said vector.
